After nearly half a century, one would think having to sing People or any other song repeatedly would be boring. If asked, Lee Greenwood would also have to admit that after the hundred millionth time singing “Proud to be an American” it has worn thin.
She was also too old for “Yentl.”

I play in a band, weekend warrior kind of stuff. We write our own material, play out a couple of times a month.
Singing the same songs, time and time again, is boring. It’s not a lack of gratitude. It’s doing the same thing over and over again, not because you want to, but because the people coming to see you expect it.
She did a song in the ‘70s called Stoney End that was pretty good.
The first time I heard it years ago, I thought “What a stupid song” Words don’t even make sense to a thinking person. People who need people usually end up on welfare..
