Rush shouldn't talk about Letterman's troubles...
October 2, 2009 | Hildy

I love Rush..I do. But if my memory serves me correctly, he came forward about his vicodin addiction ONLY when he found himself being blackmailed...am I correct? I love Rush..I dislike hypocrites. Tell me where I'm wrong.

Yes..it's so hard to get young women to sleep with rich, famous men that they idolize. I won't even dignify the other part of your post.****

Not all women have the morals you seem to think they have...Sex with an old perv. is not every woman's cup of tea.Sorry but you have no dignity to reply with.. But we all know what you would do if a staffer of Letterman..(based on your reply)

In essence, you said it was not against the law - when in fact it IS against the law; it’s no piddling distinction.

You have evidence they were faithful?

Not really the point I was trying to make. In Rush's case and from my perspective.... it's more virtuous in MY 'book of virtues', and speaking from personal experience, to get a divorce than to live in misery, which could eventually lead you to commmit adultery, or could lead you to wish you, yourself, were dead. I don't know, for sure, the particulars of why Rush got divorced, nor do I CARE. It's none of my business. I DO know my personal opinion, that it's better to distance yourself from someone that is causing you misery, than to embrace that person and live IN misery.

If you can't understand that, I just don't know what I can tell ya. I CAN tell you that the Saulinsky (my abbrev) tactic is to deflect attention from YOUR scandal by diverting to another's (among your opposition) past scandal. In this case, in your case, it's not working.

So...for a refreshing change, let me "edicate" you with some facts, inconvenient ones for you..... the resident leftie Rush-hater (apparently). Here's some snips about Rush's failed marriages. Show me where, exactly, it shows that Rush left THEM and/or "went through his wives like underwear" (your words, not mine):

#1 "Roxy filed for divorce in March 1980 on grounds of incompatibility. Rush and Roxy divorced on July 10, 1980."

#2 "During Christmas weekend of 1988, Michelle left Rush. Rush and Michelle divorced in 1990."

#3 "Marta was "married three times and had a son and daughter before hooking up with Rush." Marta divorced Tom Fitzgerald in 1992. Marta and Rush were married on May 27, 1994 in Virginia at the home of Justice Clarence Thomas who officiated the ceremony. Guests at the wedding included Mary Matalin, James Carville, and William Bennett.

Rush and Marta reportedly lived in separate houses on adjoining lots while married to one another and were rarely seen together in public. On the air on June 11, 2004 Rush announced his separation from Marta claiming that he asked her for the divorce. Other sources state that Marta was the one who first moved out."

Now....whether Rush has a severe problem which causes women he's married to to flee...or whether he just has bad luck or unfortunate taste in women...it's not for us to judge, since we don't KNOW. I DO know that your accusation is a blatant LIE. And that lie makes you a rather despicable, if not leftie-like, individual.....

in MY opinion. Unless... you'd care to correct yourself.

“...there’s no actual LAW that was broken.”

God’s Law...Ten Commandments...something about not committing adultery.

Those staffers look pretty young...and so does Letterman’s wife...what’s up with that?

Forcing sex on the hired help is definitely abusive ~ but I don’t really believe Letterman was “getting any” ~ he prefers much younger girls anyway.

In essence, you said it was not against the law

An earlier poster said that it isn't "a victimless crime." I pointed out that it is not a crime. Note those words: Not a crime. I never said you couldn't get sued for it.

Just because no one is accusing him doesn’t mean he didn’t chop up hitchhikers and bury them in his basement, if we’re just gonna make stuff up.

Overcoming addiction is not the same as boinking people who are subordinate and therefore vulnerable.

Victimless/Victims

I’m tired of these women being portrayed as victims. This is 2009...nobody has to boink anyone. For these women, it’s a career move..Did you read where Dave’s paying this girl’s law school tuition? What a guy.

Though i like Rush i don’t listen to him (don’t listen to talk radio anymore), so i am wondering exactly how Rush is approaching this matter. I think that is the key. If he were mocking Letterman simply for getting himself into a situation were he could be blackmailed, then yes, perhaps that would be hypocritical. But my guess is that Rush is looking at it in terms of how hard Letterman has gone after Palin and her family (saying they dress trashy, practically calling Palin and her older daughters whores, etc). Perhaps also in terms of how the media is covering this story and how differently it would be covered if Letterman had not shown himself recently to be a staunch lefty.

what accusation? I just said IMO Rush has no business being so high and mighty given his ugly marital track record. In my book, marriage vows are for life. he obviously does not believe this. I guess you do not either. If you think having three divorces let’s one be the moral authority on moral matters, keep worshiping Rush. Not my problem who you choose for you hero. I know I can do better.

Your sanctimonious manner reeks of liberalism to me. You lied and said Rush went through wives like underwear. I showed you proof that it was the women that left Rush. Proof that you LIED. You prefer to continue pretending otherwise, rather than to admit your error.

I repeat. You’re despicable. Especially since after erring, you STILL think you’re superior. You’re not. In fact, your lack of comprehension for truth makes you quite INFERIOR.

Hopefully, she’s not one of the ones that put out for that bitter, old hippie. What a shame. I’m sure they respected him in the morning, but could they respect THEMSELVES in the morning?
