YOU SEE AN ARMORED CAR DRIVE OFF, A LARGE BAG OF MONEY FALLS OUT. WHAT DO YOU DO?

No one saw the truck drive off, it left the alley between the bank and another business. You could pick up the cash and no one would see you. What should you do?

Everything I have is for sale, except my integrity. Doesn’t matter to whom it belongs.

Duties of finder: “Any person who finds and takes possession of any article of the value of one dollar or more shall report the finding of such article to the police department of the municipality in which he finds such article within forty-eight hours from the time of such finding. The finder of such article shall, at the time of reporting, furnish to the police department the date, time and place of finding, his name and address and a description of the article found, and, within a period of one week from such finding, shall deliver such article to the police department.” Conn. Gen. Stat. § 50-10 (2008).

You MUST turn it in, because you have ALREADY been filmed by the bank security and ATM cameras, not to mention the general street surveliance ones, in many US cities now.

I’d keep it. I see nothing morally wrong with taking money from a bank that got a taxpayer bailout.

Rio! Baby

Then reality sets in. Return it to the bank or turn it over to the police.

Pick up the bag so some dishonest person did not get it and immediately call authorities.

I’ve learned from my government and liberals to take whatever I can and forget about who I took it from.

I was never there, I never saw a truck, I have no idea what you are talking about...by the way, can you break a $100 bill? All I have are large bills.

Actually, and interesting question. If you knew you could take the money undetected would you?

Not sure about myself, but I do know that my Mom would return it - “because it is not my money”.

Then she’ll go out and vote for a Democrat who will take my money, under threat of violence, to give to some stranger.

What should you do?

There's only one right thing to do. Pick up the money and return it to the driver of the truck before he gets to where he's going......if not, chances are he's going to lose his job. I don't need money that bad...

Well, no, I wouldn’t touch that...no telling WHERE it’s been...

I’d sure not pick it up. I’d call the armored car company, and if I couldn’t get hold of them I’d call the police anonymously.

Could easily be a police sting and they accuse you of grand theft the second it is in your hand.

Remember the NY wallet sting?

The money was left in an alley between the bank and a business.

That doesn't mean you won' be observed if you take the money.

No doubt the bank cameras AND, let's postulate that the business across the alley is Wal-Mart.

They'll have you in more than 200 pickups, some at ground level, and your every movement will have been reconstructed as you moved from pickup viewing area to pickup viewing area ~ a veritable movie!

... any article of the value of one dollar or more ...

Well that dates the statute back to a time when the dollar was actually worth something! I can see myself going into a local police station and putting a single dollar bill on the desk. How expensive do you think it is to get out of the mental health lock-up that you will probably find yourself in "for your own protection"?
