I might be interested as long as they aren’t some sort of breeding ground (a la “To Serve Man” - Twilight episode) or if they don’t have the same Obama-Pelosi-Reid cast of characters in their best and most capitalist country...

Then we need a way to get there. I’d go if the journey didn’t involve time dilation because of sublight speeds.

Given the number of planets out there, it is certain that one exists.

Great analogy. That’s the same logic that says that there must be another “earth twin”, or thousands or millions of them, and that some contain intelligent life.

However, given the [increasing] numbers of factors necessary to make life here possible, the “odds” greatly diminish, even given the numbers of estimated stars in our galaxy and beyond.
