Why is there an unfinished pyramid with a glowing eye?
The "Eye of Providence" is a visual representation of the words Annuit Coeptis, and reinforces the founders' notion that God looked upon the endeavor of the new nation with favor.

It’s actually a forgery/counterfeit detector — most copy machines can’t reproduce the microprint and it comes out as just a solid line. If you use a strong magnifying glass, you’ll be able to determine whether the line is microprint or if it’s just a solid line. So — the solid line means the check was likely made on a photocopier or printer, and the microprint likely means the check is authentic.
