Can Sarah Palin win a Presidental election ? (if not, why ?)

Posted on 03/17/2010 11:09:17 PM PDT by se_ohio_young_conservative

So many people beat around the bush and repeat MSM talking point.

I want to hear honest opinions.

Do you think Sarah Palin should run in 2012 ? Can she win in 2012 ? If not, why ?

I want to read serious opinions. not repeated MSM distortions.

There is absolutely no reason why Sarah could not win a presidential election, but the MSM and some of their temporary allies with other agendas will do everything in their power to convince you otherwise.

You may be too young to remember the months up to the Reagan nomination, but believe you me, the attitude of the press and of Republican detractors was identical.

He’s dumb, he’s a lightweight, he’s an actor, he’s too old, he’s out of touch, he’s this, he’s that, he’s.... he’s... CONSERVATIVE!!!!

If you change the pronoun and swap out a few words, it’s identical to what people are saying about Sarah. And for very good reasons. Like Ron, Sarah connects with the American people on a genuine level. Like Ron, she is a common sense conservative. Like Ron, she has a warm and self-deprecating sense of humor.

All of these things count. And they all scare the MSM silly, because she goes over their heads with ease and and grace and explains things in words they understand.

They hate that.

Yes - she represents so many good things and I think we will have many Republicans in office by 2012. We still have to make it happen and one way to start is to go to a Republican Party precinct meeting.

I think it depends on the running mate. She needs somebody from a large state with a ton of electoral votes. Reagan could always depend on picking up California.

Unfortunately winning the Alaska’s, Montana’s Arizona’s and Wyomings of the world wont get her elected. The best shot would be somebody from Texas or Florida IMHO

If Palin runs, she will win and our country will begin to heal.

Thanks to the medical issues that have hit me over the past 3 years, 2012 will likely be the last time I get to vote.

As I near the beginning of my next journey, it would comfort me to know that our country, my children’s and grandchildren’s country, was being lead and guided by a president committed to bringing out and inspiring the best of us, while helping our most helpless.

Palin is not a fantasy, she’s about the only thing real that’s involved in this game.

If Palin runs, she'll win in the biggest landslide in U.S. Presidential history. The public will by then be aware that NOBODY could be worse than Bukkaki O'Bunga, and Palin will have had 4 years to establish her Reaganesque plans for recovery, which are already proven to work.

No. Not ready yet. Needs to write, think, make appearances, build credibility for a few years. We already have somebody with no experience and a short attention span in the White House. We don’t need that twice in a row. Let’s wait on Palin, and see what develops. I really admire her and hope she influences America, but I don’t see her as presidential yet. I think there is no hurry.

Funny while reading what you posted I had been thinking that just about every possible conservative contender for 2012 needs to do the same. It seems so many are beating each other up over who each supports and it’s pretty early in the game for 2012. The incessant campaigning is tearing conservatives apart and likely will result in another term for the Marxist.

At present, despite Palin's natural talent and appeal, she is problematic as a 2012 candidate due to: (1) a lack of demonstrated knowledge and competence on a wide range of issues; and (2) damage done by political and media criticism that depicted her as a lightweight with a streak of snowbilly goofiness.

Palin's chances would improve greatly if she: (1) delivered speeches and published opinion pieces showing that she knows the issues; (2) took the negative aspects of her image and joked about them while demonstrating that they are false; and (3) raised funds and campaigned for GOP candidates and party organizations in 2010.

Palin seems to be doing those three things, so her chances for 2012 are on the upswing.

I’d call that my Irish blessing... only I’m not Irish... so guess it’s my American blessing to you!

A lot will change in the time between now and December. She could win. No one thought Nixon would win after he was defeated by JFK and Pat Brown for Gov. of California.

Her association with Mccain has bugged me from day one. She says a lot of the right things but actions is what counts. At this point, I still have trustworthiness issues with Palin. If she's willing to rub shoulders with RINO's who else will she buddy up to?
I haven't written her off but she's not a ringer, either.

I love Sarah, but She lacks experience at the federal level.

Another person who would be torn apart by the elites, just as Harry Truman and Ronald Reagan were, because they didn’t fit in with the hoity toity types, and the pro abort feminists turn purple if you even mention her name.

However, she would make a great president...because she would be able to chose good people to advise her, and she has common sense...just like Harry and Reagan...
