I love these roasts. The Foster Brooks roasts Don Rickles is the funniest I have seen.

How bout the Carol Burnett show? The best thing about that show was the fact that they could never stop laughing at each other.

Those were the days, we will never have good comedy like that again. Todays comic’s are just rude and vulger, nothing funny there.

I just love how they are all smoking and drinking on TV while they chat!
The first time I saw AMC's Mad Men, I laughed...couldn't believe how they were showing the cigarette smoking and drinking. The preg wife, sitting in the doc's office, and both of them smoking...
I grew up in the 50s. Those scenes bring back memories.
And try as they might, there has never been another night show host on the level of Johnny Carson.

True.
One of their classics, one of the funniest skits I ever saw, is Harvey Korman and Tim Conway in the original Tim-the-Dentist skit (it was in black&white in the 1968-69 season). Korman was laughing through the entire thing. They later repeated it when the show was in color, but it wasn't quite as funny as the original b&w version.
Apparently, the b&w version was never kept. The color version is available on
youtube.

The Carol Burnett show was the funniest ever. And Tim Conway was an absolute riot! That clip you linked to left me blind with tears!
When I was going through The Basic School at Quantico (USMC Officer initial infantry platoon leader training) we had three instructors for the tactics classes. Most entertaining instructors I've ever had. Major Porter was the lead instructor (he later lead the boarding party which recaptured the SS Mayaguez from the Khmer Rouge), Capt Ollie North was one assistant instructor (yep, THAT Ollie North) and Capt Storm was the other assistant instructor.
Capt Storm at times could do a better Tim Conway imitation than Conway himself. Great class, lots of fun and we actually learned a good deal of tactics.

Te absurdity of things today is that they are not allowed by state law to smoke tobacco in buildings so the actors have to smoke herbal ciggies when filming the episodes.

The look on Carol Burnett’s face when Conway launches into the elephant story is priceless.
