Excellent. I do think it’s out there. As customers demand it, the businesses will listen (or they are stupid).

Now they need to wise up about soy.
It is bad for thyroids and is in the top ten food allergies but it seems to be in a lot of foods in one form or another.

I am a label reader, that is why I know it is in so many products. You wouldn’t believe how long it takes us to do our weekly shopping. I just love all of the looks we get by other people. Oh well.

HFCS and Monsanto came to America via a portal from hell.

Monsanto may actually be run by the devil himself.

I really thought Food Inc would be an anti-meat, pro-soy documentary, but the number they did on Monsanto, corn and soy was terrifying.

In Wisconsin the corn people run radio ads that say “Corn syrup is good for you - it’s made from Corn. And that’s natural!”

Talk about irresponsible advertising. I want to produce a “smoking is good for you - tobacco grows on farms ad” to illustrate the absurdity of pitching processed corn fillers and sugars.

Very hard to find pure juice for an affordable price.

Meaning no sugar added, no corn syrup or applejuice blend.

Pineapple juice is 100%.
Grape Juice also.

I am with you about added sugar. Why?

Cheaper than using whole food ing????
I found a snack that does not have Sugar as the main ing.
The are Called Aussie Bites or Something.
Very affordable. Liken it to Oatmeal frut cookies with lotsa seeds/grains.

And definetly I do not buy any food with corn syrup.

I have special needs when it comes to diet.

Funny that you bring that up.
Our local grocery store has a whole area dedicated to brands of Mexican Soda (and no we are not high in hispanic population).

As I was looking for pure (no sugar/sweetners) juice I saw a bottle of Cranberry juice for $13.00!

I went with Pinapple frozen concentrate for $1.65.

I keep pure Cherry Juice $4 (at Krogers) $6 elsewhere stocked in the pantry for the now rare event of my uric acids gone wild aka The Gout.

Grape Juice (concentrate) was another affordable pure juice.

I drink cold herb tea and use pure juice as a splash for sweetner. (no artificial sweetners for me, causes appitite increase)

I was using stevia as a sweetner but it is very expensive.

Who produced the program and what was the agenda? We do not live in a perfect world. Ideology is for liberals. Use of genetically modified seed has increased yields that you are a beneficiary of. I would like to go back to the old days when we didn't need and have them but this is one of the things that made Malthus wrong.

By the way, what were the evils?

Dropping yields

Almost half of all corn grown in the US is genetically engineered and for soybeans it is 80%.

The yield for soybeans has gone down however, according to Bill Freese at the Centre for Food Safety.

"What we've seen with the herbicide tolerant soybeans overall, is a 5-10% lower yield with the Round-up Ready soybeans - that's the herbicide tolerant soybean sold by Monsanto," he says.

But Michael Fromm, director for the Centre of Biotechnology at the University of Nebraska, who helped develop GM crops for Monsanto, points out that farmers who buy genetically engineered seed decide whether the price is worth the yield they achieve."

"There's absolutely no one making him buy those seeds," he says.

"They're voting for the transgenic seeds at higher cost for higher benefits."

No agenda there is there? Put on your thinking cap. Yield down? From when? compared to 1950, 1960, 2008?

The food system we have is not perfect, far from it but it is the best there is.

Agree.
My body just does not tolerate processed foods never has (50 yrs now).

I LOVE Hot Links, kosher dogs ect but if I eat more than that rare event they refuse to digest and react like a stomach flu as so do so many proccessed foods.
Love chips...same as above result.

I detest the stomach flu syndrome prossecced foods cause so I avoid them other than the once a year taste for the cravings.

This built in, intolerance I have is a blessing IMO it may have long term benefits on my health as I age.

I Love microbrews and California wines too but have an intolerance and horrible reactions.

Other adult beverages I have tried in my lifetime have an instant reaction as in I got into tasting Champange years ago and it got to the point with that hobby where as soon as the bubbly hit my stomach it would bounce right back up with a projectile forceful spew.

I know to much information. : 0

The “beef” I have is that corn syrup shows up in EVERYTHING. Ever read the ingredients in bologna?
Corn syrup has become a filler ingredient in the industry. I don’t want it there so I pay more for the few things that don’t use it. Apparently the industry is taking notice of those of us who feel that way.

I’m sure corn syrup will still get wide usage. I just don’t want it in my bratwurst.

I have friend just like you, they never believe anything unless it comes from their source, I don't care what you believe, the studies have been done.
CLAY CENTER, Neb. — Soybean plants genetically modified to resist a popular non-selective herbicide yield less than conventional soybeans, University of Nebraska research shows.

Two years of NU Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources research showed Roundup Ready soybeans yield 6 percent less than their closest relatives and 11 percent less than high-yielding conventional soybeans. This averages to three fewer bushel per acre, or 480 fewer bushels on a 160-acre field.

NU Agronomist Roger Elmore, who headed this study, said the research was initiated after producers began asking yield-related questions about Roundup Ready soybeans in 1997, about the same time early test results from Nebraska and other state universities were released. The questions and early results hinted Roundup Ready soybeans yielded less than conventional beans.

Story Here ...

So how long you worked for Monstanto anyway? If not do your work for one of the agra companies with an interest in discounting serious studies that state that I am right and you are wrong?

When I was little I loved Pepsi.Couldn’t figure out why I had trouble with it as an adult. I felt like I had to burp and wanted to throw up when I had it. Then, Pepsi Throwback came along. It tasted great and I didn’t feel sick after drinking it.
