Dear JimRob and JohnRob:
It would be extremely helpful to have a new feature in-thread to provide us with the ability to examine some of the following metrics-like data for a single thread.
- the number of unique freepers commenting to the thread.
- a list of the top three to five freepers who posted on the thread, measured by # of posts.
- an easy link to retrieve the comments posted in-thread by a user-specified freeper.
For those threads with a large number of comments, it is sometimes tedious and difficult to calculate such metrics on one's own. Such functionality could be enabled only for those threads reaching a predetermined number of comments or views or other criteria.

Spork Weasel has enough work keeping the site up and running, except for that hour or so the other day when he nodded off due to exhaustion, to think about extra bugs.. I mean features. He’s getting help from Viking Kitties in training already.

That wasn’t the intent of the request at all. For example, some threads grow very quickly and it is impossible to read all of the comments and keep up.
It would be nice to have the ability to quickly retrieve comments posted in that thread by a particular list of freepers in whose comments I am most interested.
I can accomplish the same thing with my own scripts and skills, but it would be nice to have that functionality built into FR.
I am wondering why some Freepers have larger posts than others. Have you noticed that.
I’ve been using the freerepublic greasemonkey script Firefox addon for several months now, and it’s very good. And very helpful. Works great with Firefox. Haven’t found any problems or glitches with it.
There, is that enough to instill a little bit of confidence? It’s quick, simple, easy, free. Go try it. The worst you can do is uninstall it if you don’t like it.
