Skip to comments.Enhancement Request for the ability to examine various sets of metrics for a single thread?

Dear JimRob and JohnRob:
It would be extremely helpful to have a new feature in-thread to provide us with the ability to examine some of the following metrics-like data for a single thread.
- the number of unique freepers commenting to the thread.
- a list of the top three to five freepers who posted on the thread, measured by # of posts.
- an easy link to retrieve the comments posted in-thread by a user-specified freeper.
For those threads with a large number of comments, it is sometimes tedious and difficult to calculate such metrics on one's own. Such functionality could be enabled only for those threads reaching a predetermined number of comments or views or other criteria.
Are you trying to give the poor Spork Weasel nightmares?
Big Brother comes to FR
If you use firefox there is a neat little script for FR. you will need to install greasemonkey first
Spork Weasel has enough work keeping the site up and running, except for that hour or so the other day when he nodded off due to exhaustion, to think about extra bugs.. I mean features. He’s getting help from Viking Kitties in training already.
No review, 0 fans, 97 installs.
does this instill confidence?
Hammer of the Gods !
That wasn’t the intent of the request at all. For example, some threads grow very quickly and it is impossible to read all of the comments and keep up.
It would be nice to have the ability to quickly retrieve comments posted in that thread by a particular list of freepers in whose comments I am most interested.
I can accomplish the same thing with my own scripts and skills, but it would be nice to have that functionality built into FR.
I am wondering why some Freepers have larger posts than others. Have you noticed that.
I’ve been using the freerepublic greasemonkey script Firefox addon for several months now, and it’s very good. And very helpful. Works great with Firefox. Haven’t found any problems or glitches with it.
There, is that enough to instill a little bit of confidence? It’s quick, simple, easy, free. Go try it. The worst you can do is uninstall it if you don’t like it.
You're just trying to get me banned, aren't you?
No. I was just wondering.

Would you of found that little script on your own? I use it and found it to be a big help
All you have to do is enter the special code number given you when you signed in and there you are!......you did get
your number, didn’t you?
And a beeberometer, please.
And a Cheeseometer and a Mooseometer and a Babeometer...
Kudos to cynwoody!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are kidding, aren't you?
.....followed by demographic data, showing the geographic location, occupation, income and education level of each poster.
And their shoe size.
Maybe he gets points with his boss when more people take part in the eligibility threads he craps on all the time. Maybe more money or something.
Or maybe it would help the DoJ keep track of who to arrest later.
The more the slower when the pipes are full of vid hungry smart phones and movie downloads.
Hmm hmm hmm.
Hmmmm.... I like it the way it is.
You may have touched on something there... Using the old thumbs up and thumbs down metric wouldn’t look good for After-Birther postings. ;-)
Heheh - I don’t think members here really want to be tracked very much.
Maybe a thread could be started suggesting we all out ourselves with our real names and addresses, and photos! And where our kids go to school!
Well, another one bites the dust!
(Dumb ideas, that is. Dumb or maybe nefarious!)
