I said '
a', as in the singular. Two, if it's feeding time, and three if I'm famished (or if I eschew the kraut, chili sauce, and any other embellishments, and just stick with mustard and onions). 67, on the other hand, is pure gluttony, and the dominion of those with hyper-metabolic disorders. For those of you who are Nathan's virgins, they ain't your daddy's Oscar Meyer. These puppies are loaded with flavor. Well-seasoned. Greasy. And fattening as hell. LOL And it would be undignified to put them on some bland, tasteless white hot dog bun. Potato rolls, at the least.
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

I went to a River Cats baseball game a few weeks ago in Sacramento, Ca.
I ordered what they call a “Dinger Dog” described as an 8 oz hot dog.
Damn thing was 14” long served in a bun so big I couldn’t get my mouth on it!
Had to throw it in the trash.

Competitive eating journalist? People actually make a living reporting this crap? Apparently they do. It was televised, complete with the flying camera shots, closeups, etc. and two commentators. I couldn't help but think that the commentators must have felt like losers -- no doubt they started off their careers thinking about being an on air commentator for the NFL, or major league baseball. And now they are talking about hot dog eating. What's next - shopping cart racing?

Gersh Kuntzman is a reporter who covered the Nathan’s contest in the New York Post for years. I think the Independence Day contest sparked his interest in eating competitions, which is a bizarre subject to say the least. He used to chat with Curtis Sliwa about the Nathan’s contest. He did his research, too. He could discuss eating competitions from all over the world. He got to know a lot of these people. The best answer to “Why?” seemed to be “Because.” They really do train for it.
