Wikileaks and 9-11 What If?
AAS ^ | 10.18.2010 | Coleen Rowley & Bogdan Dzakovic

If WikiLeaks had been around in 2001, could the events of 9/11 have been prevented? The idea is worth considering.

The organization has drawn both high praise and searing criticism for its mission of publishing leaked documents without revealing their source, but we suspect the world hasn't yet fully seen its potential. Let us explain.

There were a lot of us in the run-up to Sept. 11 who had seen warning signs that something devastating might be in the planning stages. But we worked for ossified bureaucracies incapable of acting quickly and decisively. Lately, the two of us have been wondering how things might have been different if there had been a quick, confidential way to get information out.

Wikileaks would have done everything they could to inform the terrorists where we were weakest

Don’t believe “this leak” would have stopped 20 jihadists dead set on killing tens of thousands.

To keep them off the planes, you’d need to arrest them or kill them.

Without “evidence” you couldn’t charge them and depending on how the evidence came to light, local agencies may (A) dismiss the threat and not act (better to write some traffic tickets) or (B) bring them in and them dismiss the charges (notice that the manner of data collection was what got Bill Ayers’ freed).

And if you are using the CIA to kill jihadists in America before they act, you are going to see a whole lot of civil rights groups out protesting about a paranoia of Islamic terrorism.

Even now they say that the threat is overstated and that Islamists didn’t strike us and that Bin Laden was framed.

I agree. Wikileaks is determined to expose our intelligence gathering capabilities to our enemies. They’re are much more likely to be complicit in one of these attacks than to thwart one.

What if the next attack is a result of the terrorists having wiki leaks knowledge?

The idea that “wikileaks” could have prevented 9-11 is naive. Whatever was released through wikileaks recently was done by someone for political reasons or their . There is nothing independent or objective about the information they are releasing or the platform it is released on.

If this were remotely plausible Wikileaks would be posting terrorist information, not US security documents. They don’t seem interested in getting the bad guys.

Wikileaks would not have pushed NSA into action.

Roger that.

Where are the Wikileaks on Russian, Chinese, or Iranian capabilities and operations?

Nowhere, because that jerk Julian Assange is on the side of chaos and lawlessness.

I know, . . we all need to join in to help push "our" NSA.

It is our country and it would be nice if they would help 'US" for a change.

Sort'a like the joke about the Yugo;

"Why does the Yugo have a rear window defroster?"

So your hands don't get cold while your pushin' it!

Whatever was released through wikileaks recently was done by someone for political reasons or their .

The documents that were stolen by a gay soldier, were done so as pure espionage. A leaker has a few damning articles he stumbles across or is asked to participate in, he was stealing tens of thousands of documents he procured.

That's naked treason.

Where does or did this guy get his funding?

Suppose it weren’t Wikilinks, per se but, another open source for a government whistleblower to turn to?

No one passed on the info these agents had received nor corrcted the flaws in security they found and they had no other outlets to alert necessary parties..

We all know their were severe breakdowns in intelligence sharing within our government before 9-11. I would think and hope those holes were filled but, I doubt it.

Probably via the Obama network.

The actions are purely against America which is consistent with the overall game plan of Obama, the antiPresident.

Thats why there has been no attempt to shut the guys down and hang them.

Why isn’t Wikileaks concerned about pooling the data on the Democrats giving us the banking collapse? Barney Frank and others shielded oversight and claimed all was well.

Let’s pretend it’s not Wikilinks but any news agency without an agenda (lol!)

What if the agents went on FOX to tell what was happening?

Wikileaks - NOT a reliable source. Not a place to get objective news rather a place for certain groups against a given policy to vent and spread rumor. [National Inquirer and The Globe might be better reading.

Austin American Statesman - a rag (my hometown rag) NOT fit to wrap fish in!

Wherever you go to get information, vet the source and the information against other know information. Don’t believe it case someone calling themselves a ‘news organization’ is putting it out. Don’t believe it just because your friend says it. Find out the truth for yourself.

HuffPo, strike one.

FBI “whistleblower”, strike two.

Running for Congress on the all-purpose label-doesn’t-matter leftist imbecile ticket, she’s out.
