Don't let FreeRepublic become DemocratUnderground.

Posted on 11/18/2010 10:38:27 AM PST by Democrats hate too much

Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty constitutional conservative activist web site. Those who cannot live with that should simply stay away!! (saves wear and tear on my zot button - bitterly clinging redneck, Jim)

Romney is an unrepentant abortionist/statist lying political whore! Just to be absolutely clear, there will never ever be a RINO Romney campaign on FR!! If he somehow becomes the nominee, FR will be running a full-time campaign to DEFEAT him!! If you wish to support him then I suggest you sign off FR and onto Wankers for Mitt!!

Those statments make me worry that FreeRepublic is moving toward a DemocratUnderground kind of stance toward their users. Romney may have done some mistakes like Health Car but I have constantly heard him say that universal helath care was a mistake. If I'm wrong, so what. Lets not kick good Republicans off this site because of their views on abortion and Mitt Romney. Look, if someone says something good about Romney, fine. State your point and try to change that person's views. We are not kicking them off the site! That is DemocratUnderground style dumb. It's what they do.

Why? Its true - I don’t care who the heck runs against obaa - they have my vote.

Spongebob/Tickle Me Elmo has my vote over Obama in 2012.

My first vote is Sarah - but if for some reason she does not win the primary - I am not stayng home.

the stakes are too large - especially with the SC. I cant stand Myth, but I would easily vote for the pence ryan, thune, jindle, christie, etc. if they are the nominee.

I think there needs to be a third group in the abortion conversation just besides just pro-life and pro-choice. How about something like "pro-I-Dont-Want-Govenerment-to-make-Pro-Life-or-Pro-Choice-laws".

Democrats hate too much, you would have made a great Whig!

More than 3500 babies are MURDERED EVERY DAY. The PURPOSE OF GOVERNMENT is to protect our rights and chief among these is LIFE. You should try reading the Declaration of Independence and Constitution some time troll.

I think the important thing is to not end up like 2008, where conservatives spent so much time attacking each other’s candidates that we never were able to settle on one that could win, so we ended up with John McCain.

Just out of curiosity, do you think any of the candidates in the 2008 GOP primaries could have won? I don't. I remember when this site was Fred Republic and he couldn't get out of the starting blocks. I doubt Rudy/Huck McRomney would have had much chance against The American Idol either.

We seem to be having a run on people just begging us to dilute our Constitutional conservative message with endless liberal debates, RINO campaigns and misleading marxist mythology.

The heck with that.

You should know very well how wide ranging, and numerous the flaws of Mitt Romney are, we have sure tried to educate you on them.

Right you are, but Chuck is a wascally wabbit who disguised his Romney defense cleverly throughout with a carefully neutral (but see-through) plausible deniability. So much so that FReeper ejonesie22 coined the term for him ... the Swiss Ninja:

Of course, Charlie actually liked that at the time, IIRC?

Hey moron, Free Republic is a PRO-LIFE CONSERVATIVE FORUM, it's supposed to be an echo chamber when it comes to things like abortion!

No its not. Screaming zealots. No room for thoughtfulness. FR has totally changed in the years I’ve been here, so I’ve become scarce, and now I’m am gone.

Flame away, “real” conservatives.

Love for life *is* love.

The pro-abortionists miss that very point.

Hate is on their side. They own it.

Like our grate President Reagan observed, (paraphrasing)

“All the people FOR abortion are already born.”

I understand what you’re saying. The biggest problem is that you can only vote for the people who are actually in the race at the time and often the choices are terrible.

With 300 MILLION people in the country you’d think we could at least have enough people that would make good Presidents, Senators, etc. on down the line.

We need to draft more FReepers and other conservatives to run at all levels, local, state and national.

(I’m frustrated enough to try myself but I’m disabled and unelectable. But at least I’d try if I could. I wish more FReepers would step up and serve. Some do.)

This quote by the late Henry Hyde has long been a favorite of mine:

When the time comes, as it surely will, when we face that awesome moment, the final judgment, I've often thought, as Fulton Sheen wrote, that it is a terrible moment of loneliness. You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God -- and a terror will rip your soul like nothing you can imagine. But I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone. I think there'll be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world -- and they will plead for everyone who has been in this movement. They will say to God, 'Spare him, because he loved us!
