Wow, a cheap Raptor knock-off.

At least the Soviets could come up with their own designs.

But where did they get the Raptor plans?

From pictures you can get only the shell.

I wish we were told more. Like this wiki stuff has been useful because we’ve found out all the stuff that WE on FR knew already but the DUmmies deny.

I wish we knew more like what information of ours the chinese have, and theories on how they might have got it.

Intelligence should work WITH the people. They have the same aim as us - to maintain American power in the world.

Europe is a clear example of this. If the intel over there had worked WITH the people over the 70s and 80s when things were more free, and educated people in the real issues of the world, they wouldn’t have the massive problems they do now.

The instinctive secrecy of intel works against their primary purpose.

Hmm....

Allow me to play armchair aerodynamacist.

Not enought wing area ( a la F-35, Thud, etc) and not enough Vertical tail.

Lead Sled in the making....

Do you even have any clue at all?

Foxbat? are you kidding me, the fighter is a CANARD layout fighter, how could this copy your craptor?

Btw, we all know Craptor is a crap rip-off of Russian’s stone-age MiG-25/Foxbat, the aerodynamic layouts of the two are BASICALLY the same, no wonder you all should thank that famous Russian pilot for letting you copy all your ways to your Craptors.

ROFL

You better save your amatuerish wannabe aerodynamicist to yourself.

Are you sure the fighter dont have sufficient wing area?

ONE PRIMARY DESIGN FEATURE OF THIS CANARD-LAYOUT FIGHTER IS THAT IT HAS WAY LARGER WING AREA COMPARING TO YOUR F-22.

Just deal with it.

But its also highly overrated to travel over Mach 2.0 for today’s fighter with today’s turbine fan engines.

Most of today’s air-combat still takes places at speed range of Mach<1.2.

No one ever mentions what a crapload of globalism that was when Bush let them get away with taking our plane and crew, then sending the plane back in boxes.

The District of criminals built China up with wealth stolen from American citizens.
I will not be suprised when they announce that Alaska, all the BLM land and national parks have been ceded to China to pay for cheap crap we bought at walmart

Yeah, but you gotta get to the fight, toady.....and we'll see the heat signature on your French knockoff from orbit before it even gets off the ground......something the Chinese might want to consider before picking a fight......

Yes, I am aware of the advantages, I have had ride in Vari Ee Eons ago and sat in on many Rutan lectures at OSH, but even he has tried other Planforms. The Canards have short comings too. But note both the F22 and F35 didn't go Canard, The Grippen did and the Soviet's have 3 planes with their Carrier Birds, my guess is their is a signature penality.

Now if this thing is a double delta and had no horizontal stab ( if the outline is wrong ) and a canard, now we are talking a different beast.

We all know Raptor looks like a MiG-25, which suggesting Belenko must has been the project director & chief designer of your Raptor.

The MiG-25 bears a way-too coincidental similarity to the North American A-5A Vigilante. Make the Vigi fat (to put really big engines in it), eliminate the internal bomb-bay and give it twin tails and you have a MiG-25. Or an F-15, for that matter.

The simple fact is that there are a finite number of design solutions to design challenges. So yes, high-speed aircraft (A-5A, MiG-25, F-15), high maneuverability aircraft (Gripen, Eurofighter Typhoon, Rafale, ChiCom J-10, Lavi, X-31), spacecraft (Shuttle Orbiter, Buran) stealth aircraft and the like are going to look very, very similar.

Like with the Pak-FA T-50 (Russian "Raptorski") it looks like the ChiCom stealth prototype combines elements from the F-22, the YF-23 and the F-35. It may even combine elements from the Pak-FA T-50, because the back-ends look just about identical (and close to the MiG 1.44 as well).

Surely it couldn’t be that Mainland Chinese graduate students
stole plenty of “secure” data during their tenure at American engineering
schools.

Canards on this type design are used to enhance low speed, high angle of attack handling. Above 150 kts they’re just drag.

You fail to factor in the quality of the pilots.

Gad, that was an event.

But the one great outcome was the return of the crew.
To my grave I’ll remember a CBS news reporter covering the event,
in particular when one of the crew persons stepped off the plane and
a daughter broke away from mom and ran faster than most college halfbacks
and screamed “DADDY!!!”.
I give Russ Mitchell credit for simply uttering an simple “Ow Wow” in response
to this highly emotional moment.

One moment when the MSM actually acted like human beings.
