Why Hasn't Trump received any real backlash from the MSM on his birther blitz?
Monday March 28, 2011

Posted on 03/28/2011 10:06:58 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

Seriously...Since Donald Trump has been on the birther crusade for well over a week, and arguing with the likes of Whoopie Goldberg on the View about it and displaying his birth certificate as a challenge to President Obama on the issue ... providing a copy of his birth certificate to the conservative website Newsmax, I have seen very little if any heavily critical stories about Trump raising the issue...maybe a few snarky remarks, but no mocking him as a total nut or loony, no hit-pieces trashing of him! maybe I might be missing it but I haven't seen it

If anybody else had done and said the same things as him, they would be immediately denounced by many in the MSM or some Congressman - but for him its a no.

If Sarah or for that fact any other major potential candidate were to do the same thing that Trump is doing for a week, they would be attacked...just like when Bachmann or others either made a comment, a joke or or made a slip up statement on the issue.

Maybe the media doesn't see him as a threat?

The media loves this. Keeping this kooky birther stuff in the news will help Obama get re-elected.

Actually, I think he has a document in his coat pocket he is holding for the time when someone on the Obama side challenges him to put up or shut up.

It would not be someone who acted with forethought but out of anger and would in essence fall into the trap.

Then Trump could just reach in his pocket and produce the proof necessary to answer the challenge.

Woe to the person who throws down such a gauntlet.

If Palin ask the same question, she be denounced. I think its because Trump is a billionaire and ppl of his stature are given a level of respect, while those who are country bumpkins are treat disrespectfully

I believe what you said about Trump asking for a BC is very much like many so called birthers have been asking for. If Trump not asking for an official Certificate of Live Birth as many birthers are demanding does not go that far seems to keep him from being a birther , I think it is quibbling. If Trump is not a birther he sure has raised their flag. More controversey the better.

Sarah Palin allowed herself to be defined by the media, because she wasn’t skilled enough to define herself.

What a complete load of horse manure.

The MSM hasn't defined Palin to anyone except the drooling Obot zombies, who've been pre-programmed from childhood to hate any Republican who would dare to challenge any Democrat presidential candidate - and most especially their new messiah.

And, in case you hadn't noticed, Sarah Palin has penned two books since the end of the 2008 campaign, and has stayed up front and center in the public eye, with appearances on Fox, public speaking engagements, editorials, tweets, her Facebook page, and LOTS of networking and endorsements in the 2010 midterm elections.

Don't tell me that she's not skilled enough to define herself.

Palin's popularity hasn't suffered one whit amongst center-right Americans who make up the ranks of the Tea Party. There isn't a national political figure on this side of the aisle who is more popular and admired than she is.

Hehe. Trump doesn’t see the media as a threat. He has no constituency he must cater to to get reelected. He has all the money in the world he could need, his own private security, and fame based off of a
Lifetime of successes and failures he owns with personal responsibility. Plus, he knows everybody’s dirt. He has the money to dig for dirt on anyone he chooses.

He is the Donald. They can’t touch him. He is the the huge 6’2” insanely fast guy in the “Octagon” they all fear.

I think I am in love.

Just kidding! He is doing the truth and the constitution a great service. I am very sincerely grateful!

1. It doesn’t matter if they are able to define you the moment you walk on the stage. When you’re playing with the big boys, you need to wear big-boy-pants and need to be prepared for such things. Had Sarah gone for a slightly lower step, than VP, like a congressman or senator and then ran for VP, she would have had a record to run on and would have been in more control of her image. I still think that is what Sarah should do. If she proves herself, the Republican party would invite her back, no problem.

2. The media is very manipulative and propagandizing. However, they also know to abandon a candidate if there is no way he can win. Unless Obama is able to turn things around, the media will eat him.

...all Obama has to do is “ta da” release a forged BC and the election will be basically over.

Have you ever wondered why the serial number is blacked out on Obama's alleged COLB? It's because all of the birth certificates that were issued by Kaipolani Hospital at the time of his birth were sequentially numbered.

The people who hold the birth certificates from the day that Zero claims he was born there are known and documented (see: Nordyke twins).

Zero's forgers are going to have to 'disappear' someone's entire existence from the public records to insert him in that sequence. Gonna be awfully hard to do. Pretty much impossible, in fact.

I agree. If it weren't for that squirrel on his head, he'd be quite the stud.

I like Sarah. I would be part of the tea party, if I were American. However, and I certainly can be wrong, but I do not believe that she has enough support from Americans in general to become president at this point.

In politics, you need to build a foundation. If you move too fast, you generally fail. I think trying to become president or VP was too fast 3 years ago and it’s still too fast. That is my position. I would be far more comfortable with her running for president if she had a congressional record to run on.

why congressional record when she have 10 years worth of Governor’s record, Chairman of Oil and Gas Regulation and Mayor. A congressman is simply a legislator, not an executive. Thats like saying, I rather a lawyer to run a business than a ceo of a large corporation

“He’s a self-promoting reality-show personality, nothing more...”

Nothing more? He developed a large chain or restaurants and real estate all over New York and the East Coast before any ‘reality show.’ His or any other. He’s been a self-made billionaire for at least a quarter century.

US mainstream media is based in NYC. They do NOT consider hi a buffoon. And they sure as hell don’t have the guts to cross him. They don’t have to ‘like’ him, but they would underestimate him at their own peril.

Bingo. Totally agree. They are checkmated. They attack Trump and the issue goes viral. The birth certificate issue will destroy Obama like the tsunami in Japan. This is orchestrated. Perhaps Trump knows the Congress and the Presidency is going all Republican and he wants to position himself to get the lion’s share of the goodies when it does. When Obama is gone there will be a lot of rebuilding to do and billions spent. Trump could be positioning himself to be in the middle.
