Right through the back door, while everyone was focused on the gulf oil spill, Barack Obama gave his signature to legislation permitting the U.S. Government to outlaw supplements and alternative health treatments.
That means that the supplements you take and therapies you use to keep your body healthy, can now be made illegal by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Obama quietly gave permission for Codex Alimentarius - the United Nation's worldwide plan for food standards - to take effect in the U.S. via Executive Order 13544 of June 10, 2010. The President's decision creates the National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council, a group of 'experts' that carry out whatever activities Obama deems appropriate.
According to an article at Rense.com, after five years of fighting this bill in Congress and the House, Obama has decided to try to kill the supplement and alternative health industry; all alternative health remedies can be deemed "unscientific" and not provable by the FDA, which can lead to them being banned.
It means that supplements may have to be removed from sale permanently, or have their potency capped at ultra low levels, making them almost worthless. The very same thing happened in Europe just a few years ago.

Does this mean supplements like fish oil pills, vitamins etc? What a way to control people! For example, my husband reduced his BP and bad cholesterol by using fish oil rather than a statin. A boost for the pharmaceutical companies or what?

It means exactly that. The health and wellness, natural foods, and nutritional supplements industries have been fighting against the introduction of Codex Alimentarius for decades.
Naturally, Fuhrer Obama LOVES this sort of top-down, totalitarian control, and he signed it into law.

Just go get the real thing instead of a suppliment.

Are you going to make your own supplements in your home? Do you know how complicated it is to just making whey protein powder?
Someone will reply soon that we will just take this to court. Ya, good luck with that also.

So where are you going to get your high quality nutritional supplements when Obama's Nazi health food agency has them removed from every store shelf and online source?

Please note a minor error: Executive Orders are *not* legislation, though they are one of the more offensive abuses of the “Imperial Presidency”, and as often as not are sounding boards of presidential mental health.
Even more troubling are Presidential Signing Statements, where the president effectively rewrites legislation by saying what parts he will enforce and what parts he will ignore, taking away congressional authority; and how he wants to “interpret” the law, taking away federal judicial authority.
As such, PSS’s are clearly unconstitutional and a threat, and must be stopped; and EO’s must be limited to directives for enforcing new and existing laws, not to promulgate new parts to the executive branch.

Rome wasn't built in a day. It's coming. The feds now have the authority to build these agencies and begin implementation of this draconian law.
You need to show more ID for a cough drop than Obama needs to show to be occupant of the White House, Commander in Chief, and caretaker of the big red nuclear button that could easily annihilate all life on the globe!
We've simply got to outlast this little tin horn dictator and vote him out in 2012. The next president and congress are going to have their hands full undoing all of the damage he's done to our country, but that is the task.

The bright side to that, is that it won't take a ruling by the Supreme Court to abolish this. A stroke of the pen by our next president, and it will be gone.
