North Korea: One of the Happiest Places on Earth?
Time via Yahoo ^ | Jun 1, 2011 | HILLARY BRENHOUSE

According to a global happiness index released in North Korea, the country and its allies are the most cheerful countries in the world. Naturally, the "American Empire" strikes Pyongyang as just plain sad.

Shanghaiist reports that North Korea's Chosun Central Television recently came out with a happiness index compiled by local researchers. Their findings? China is the happiest place on the planet, earning 100 points (a perfect score!). At number two is none other than North Korea itself. Cuba, Iran and Venezuela (in that order) round out the top five.

North Korea truly is a wonderful place to live, provided only one has not fallen into the trap - alas, all too common these days - of enjoying such bourgeois habits as eating, drinking, thinking, reading, marrying, procreating, and religious worship.

Then, too, one must not be overly reserved and prissily attached to such other bourgeois habits as protecting one’s genitalia from electric shock, one’s bones from fracture, one’s internal organs from rupture, and one’s mind from breakage caused by endemic insanity.

And, of course, if the notion of dying prematurely from a countless variety of diseases brought on by chronic malnutrition and slow starvation is somehow objectionable, then you may wish to seek residence elsewhere.

But, hey, if you can handle all that, North Korea is definitely for you!

The only reason these guys still have an atomic bomb is that nobody has figured out a safe way to eat the components.

Kim Jong-il keeps a very large liquor cellar. Famous liquor brands from around the world are lined up, maybe about 10,000 bottles in all. He prefers Johnnie Walker Swing for whiskey and Hennessy XO for cognac.

If that photo is anything to go by, it would seem to be more likely that he flies into their rooms at night and sucks it out of their necks while they’re sleeping.

Pakistan may not be everybody’s “cup of tea,” but a discontented Pakistani can always seek citizenship in another country.

Certainly, a skilled journalist could find employment - and citizenship - elsewhere.

North Koreans cannot go anywhere; they will be executed for any such attempt.
