Look at the auto workers union in the '70's, where the UAW's slick negotiators caused the average American car to almost triple in price.
This isn't an anti-union rant, just sayin...
If Apple doesn't nip it NOW, Apple will be found in the history books only.
No company can survive these days with blood sucking leeches dragging them down.
So remember, the next time the salesperson says some about that Mac for PC, he or she is only a $14 per hour opinion giver.
Simple ,Fire little Cory and anyone else who tries to organize.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with an anti-union rant.
Liberal Apple will be torn between profits and supporting the dem agenda. This will be interesting to watch.
as always, it will be fun to see a committed left winger like Jobs deal with the left wing unions. He is capitalist by day, and leftie by night, in terms of how Apple is run. They strategically have used oversees labor and manufacturing and non-union supplier/shippers, etc from one end of the supply chain to the other. I like Apple quite a bit and respect Jobs greatly for what he and his company have accomplished. This upcoming battle is intriguing to me.
If it was me, I’d fire his union looking @$$, ASAP!
Uh-oh, Mr. Black-turtleneck-and-blue-jeans isn’t going to like this...
That guy should be fire asap.
i was browing in an apple store
when a frustrated customer arrived at
“the genius bar”
to complain that he could not open his new ipad.
turns out not one but two buttons open an ipad.
That guy should be fired asap.
I remember a documentary on the demise of the Studebaker Corp that had as a base premise that the UAW used this #5 auto company to force industry-wide agreements upon the other auto companies. Going into the Great Depression, Studebaker had a paternalistic view of it’s workforce and strove to keep employees even when car sales could not support the load. Even through the early 50s, it still had the highest wages in the US Industry. The UAW / Walter Reuther used a strategy of striking one manufacturer to force matching wages throughout the unionized factories. When Studebaker sales faltered, no kindness was shown for past good treatment and the company, founded to build wagons in 1852, died in the 1960s.
It must be strange in the upper echelons of Apple at times - they are obviously Californian libs and they even have the Gore-acle on their Board of Directors, but when they see the anti-capitalist movement of the current left, does it even twinge?
Doesn’t San Fran have a living wage law on the books? If so, these employees are living high on the hog! /s
Well I always said every man has a right to be stupid.
to fight for better wages and benefits and to address what he says are unfair practices in the company's glass-and-steel retail showrooms.
Every slave has with in him the means to end his slavery.
Dont like it there? QUIT!
Torn.
I am not a fan of unions. At the same time would I love a union to harass liberal, elitist, humanitarian, we-are-so-superior-over-everyone Apple? The ironic paradox is almost too tantalizing to say no to.
Jobs is one of the darlings of the Liberal, Socialist, and Progressive movement. Lets see how many of them start protesting Apple if he cans the guy and tries to squash the whole thing.
I hope this kid is successful.
Liberals like Jobs need to take responsibility for their own ideology by living under the effects of their ideology.
Liberals universally exempt themselves from their own taxes, regulations, labor policies, etc.
I’m tired of liberals imposing their will on everybody except themselves.
Let them live and die by their own failures.
>This isn’t an anti-union rant, just sayin...
I;m not offended by your rant. They are expensive overbloated pieces if fine machinery, but the fact you “subliminally” TRIED to apologize for it when FR is a pro-free market, anti-union forum is disconcerting.
Put the kid on straight commission.
