A Mexican national was executed Thursday for the rape-slaying of a teenager after the U.S. Supreme Court turned down a White House-supported appeal to spare him in a death penalty case where Texas justice triumphed over international treaty concerns. Humberto Leal, 38, received lethal injection for the 1994 murder of Adria Sauceda. She was fatally bludgeoned with a piece of asphalt. Leal was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. EDT (2221 GMT).

Besides Obama can’t tell Arizona they can’t ask about citizenship status with their police but require Texas to always inquire about hispanics’ citizenship EVERY time they are involved with the police.

That is a cheeky little piece of hypocrisy all right. If the person is putting out an effort to pass as American, can any state be blamed for taking that seriously?

If you like westerns find the ones by William W. and/or J. A. Johnstone. He wrote different series about the old west. The Last Mountain Man, The First Mountain Man, The Eagles series, The Loner series, etc. Check them out. I love to read and found the Mountain Men series back in the 1980’s. In one, he said that if there were one lawyer in a town, he starved but let another one come to town, both got wealthy. Johnstone is also the author of the Out of the Ashes series and the new Phoenix Rising.

Canada (except Alberta) would logically be part of the “Chicagostonia.”

"...Texas justice triumphed over international treaty concerns...."

Can you even believe that an AP reporter wrote those words? Even further, they made it past AP's censors!

Texans say/do things so well:

This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco , TX Nov 18, 2010

Put me in charge . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I’d do is to get women
Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we’ll test
recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your “home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government” job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good.”

Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of
the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules.. Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

I wonder if there are unsolved murders and rapes of young girls in the United States and Mexico that he might be responsible for. The savagery and depravity of this crime suggests he had the capacity for having done it before, and that he would probably do it again. God Bless Texas.

From AP, about the execution:

In his last minutes, Humberto Leal repeatedly said he was sorry and accepted responsibility.

"I have hurt a lot of people. ... I take full blame for everything. I am sorry for what I did," he said in the death chamber.

"One more thing," he said as the drugs began taking effect. Then he shouted twice, "Viva Mexico!"

"Ready warden," he said. "Let's get this show on the road."

Leal finally copped to the crime his defense lawyers maintained that he didn't commit. People oughtta know that too:

About to die, Leal apologizes for killing S.A. teen

Okay asshole, let’s see you get back across this border. (I know, I know, he’s been in the U.S. for decades..., just still not a citizen, I guess he was a little too slow to run for the border)

Doesn’t your heart just bleed for his guy, knowing the Mexican Consolata wasn’t able to get him off?

I guess Obama knows now how much real power he has in matters like this.

He bashed her head in with stones Obama. Where’s your pity for the dead girl?

Sorry, but the Old AND New Testament both support the death penalty, esp. in Matthew where Christ reminds us that he did not come to end the Law but to fulfill it. And the Law was pretty specific about the fate of murderers and rapists.
So take your moronic argument elsewhere.
