A South African court has blocked the government from buying 11 million Chinese condoms, saying they are too small, a newspaper reported Friday.
The finance ministry had awarded a contract to a firm called Siqamba Medical, which planned to buy the Phoenurse condoms from China, the Beeld newspaper said.
A rival firm, Sekunjalo Investments Corporation, turned to the High Court in Pretoria after losing the bid, arguing that their condoms were 20 percent larger than the Chinese ones.
Judge Sulet Potterill blocked the deal with Siqamba, ruling that the condoms were too small, made from the wrong material, and were not approved by the World Health Organisation, the paper said.
South Africa has more HIV infections than any country in the world, with 5.38 million of its 50 million people carrying the virus.

Reminds me of an old joke

Of course one of them has to be...
take these balloons and mark them all small.
Can I get me a Chrysler that "looks" like a Bentley?
I also heard the Chinese condoms are flavored: melamine, or lead.
I’m... reasonably certain that there’s no way this is true.
The next line was cut, but it was "Lady, you're licking my elbow..."
The South African GOVERNMENT is buying 11 million condoms? I’d like to see the guy who tries to put one on a lion or elephant.
In the face of this decision, China should just pull out.
Wide divergence from the mean doesn't only apply to a physical attribute that is much larger, though, it applies to much smaller as well.
The Chinese tried to give them the shaft. The Africans couldn’t tell until they put their magnifying glasses on.
ruling that the condoms were too small, *made from the wrong material*, and were not approved by the World Health Organisation, the paper said.
One only wonders what knockoff material they’re using in the production process. It could well be that, aside from sizing issues, they are ineffective against STD’s as well.
Speaking of old jokes: (Insert photo of Algore)
Saw him on the news last night...looked like a robot, his face all plasticy looking.
I seen a label on a hand sanitizer the other day that said, “Kills 99.99% of most harmful germs.”
I was not impressed.
I heard a true story from back in the seventies. As a propaganda stunt, the Soviets sent an order to an American company for a bunch of condoms. The Soviets gave the specifications for the condoms as if they were to fit enormous members. The American company filled the order with the condoms made to exact specifications. They marked all the boxes “Medium”.
Very large breasts in women is a genetic malady? Well, Mr. Carson sure skipped that part in biology class. Gregor Mendel Shmegor Mendel. Ohhh, think of the lab work. I would’ve stayed awake for that.
SIze of their military make up for the lacking of something else.......
No, crossed eyes would be the malady. Very large in this instamce would likely be in the painful burden category for the women themselves, none would ever want implants to have breasts of that size.
Correlation is not an absolute. It implies a possibility of causation. The two datapoints are closely associated.
OK. Maybe not biology class. But enroll me in the statistics class that’s checking for the mean of women’s breast size! “I’m sorry ladies, but I lost the measurements again. Shirts off!” They wouldn’t even have to pay me for that job.
I thought the flavored ones were condomints?
I'm surprised that you're surprised.
