I believe that the ruling class politicians see Palin as a real threat to their status quo, and her postponement of announcing her candidacy as a hindrance to their stopping her.
One way to force her hand earlier than she intends is to move up the primaries.

I think you theory is plausible. The Establishment has no morality whatsoever and will do anything to maintain its grip on our country and extend it.
