This is just an old Mom’s opinion but I think when you get that tall a heel... you go from looking attractive to uh... shall we say... less than an honorable woman. Just my two cents worth.

Compared with having indiscriminate sex with all kinds of men, nah, 5-inch-heels are not really very high on the "threat-to-women's-health" scale.

If a woman can put up with these high-risers,fine...i’m a woman and happen to think they’re sexy.Due to anatomical misgivings,I can’t wear them but like to see them worn.I also happen to think if they wear them and have irreversible bone, joint or nerve damage, that’s on them. The long and short (or tall,as the case may be )of it is-leave people alone and let them eat what they want, wear what they want and do what they want.If it’s not illegal, harmful to others,or infringing on their rights, well, what’s the problem?

Wearing those stilettos transforms a promenade into a *slut walk*.

Fine. They'll get you what you crave. Attention. Then you can claim *sexual harassment* and sue. It's all the Fashion.

Usually... if you see a woman trying to walk in those high-risers... it is almost comical. They sort of push their foot forward and their knees are farther apart. They almost wobble. Let’s just say there isn’t a lot of GRACE when they walk.

They should come with [from our morbidly obese Surgeon General] warning labels that threaten federal imprisonment...like those required on pillows and mattresses.

Many of these shoes appear to be downright dangerous - and I don’t mean just back problems. I think there ought to be a law requiring a helmet while wearing these.

I was in NY a couple of weeks ago and saw so many of these shoes in the stores - but don’t know where you’d wear them - you’d kill yourself on the streets of NY in these. There was one pair that was made out of some animal’s hair - the hair went to a point over the toe area and I think you’d need to comb and hairspray these shoes. The heels were humungous and they had no backs - sort of like a clog style. The salesman saw me gaping at these and said quietly - with a subtle smile - “they’re almost sold out”.

They’re STUPID; but I’ll admit - it’s their business. I’ll wear flatter shoes, thanks; but won’t try to boss someone else about what they wear. I can’t walk in them and risk injury - so do they.

It IS amusing, though, to enter a room; then to watch a thirty-something woman in 5” heeled boots enter the room, to watch hubby perk up, suck in his gut, and keep eyeing the “5 foot 9 inch” woman in the boots out the corner of his eye. (In real life, she’s 5’4” like me. I tell him, “hop to it!” - “you’ll have buyer’s remorse when you get her to the hotel and she’s not quite as “tall” as you thought”.)
