The father of a baby who infamously vanished in the Australian Outback more than 30 years said Monday that he was confident a new inquiry into the tragedy will officially rule that a dingo took his daughter.

My mother-in-law goes by her ex-husband’s last name. He bailed on her and their newborn baby 40 years ago. She kept his last name so her son (my husband) would grow up (with the same last name as her) for “dignity”.
Most dogs sleep ~16 hr /day (which is good as they sleep more than you do - unlike really youngin's)
Chesapeakes apparently like to bar their (really big lookin') teeth and take exception to unknown dogs and people. Though this dog is basically gentle with a household cat and yard squirrels and deer, she could easily go rogue. I wouldn't trust her with an infant.
My previous dog (a full field Lab) seemed quite gentle until at age 3, she took out two groundhogs by shaking even though she was commanded to drop them.
Apparently dogs are dogs.
Dingos apparently are a whole 'nother case.
FWIW: Last I read, Hyenas are in the cat family.

My SIL is a vet. She told me that many loving dogs will attack and kill rabbits, ground hogs etc... especially if their master is nearby. Why? The dog is protecting the master. Sounded nutty to me until our dog killed a rabbit (quickly and efficiently) because the rabbit got too near my FIL. He, in essence, was protecting Pop-Pop (who secretly buried the rabbit because he thought it was upset me). So, yes... dogs are dogs.

the movie based on this essentially showed the mom was targeted as crazy because she was a devout Christian...and Meryl Streep was really wonderful in playing the innocent mom.
When I watch it, I see how Christians in the future will be targeted and convicted for made up crimes.
As for camping with a 2 month old: Why not? Mom was breastfeeding, and the camp was comfortable...
not true. Most babies are murdered by the dad/boyfriend...and in this case there was no motive, except the anti Christian press convinced the public that seventh day adventist Christians go around killing babies all the time because they are a cult...
she kept her husband’s name because in Australia, it was a famous murder case, and the family is still trying to prove their innocence.

Since 1973 more than fifty million babies have been murdered by their mommies.
We took our 6 week old to Yellowstone and she did fine. In fact, she was the only one who stayed warm. She’s 21 now, but doesn’t remember the trip.

My idea of “roughing it” is a tricked out motor home.
I know from personal experience that some doggies believe human babies to be their own, and protect them as they would their own.
Dingos are wild, though.
That is truly different.
