Grading Barack Obama

Few legal scholars have blown as many minds and impacted as many national arguments as Richard Epstein. His 1985 volume Takings: Private Property and the Power of Eminent Domain made the controversial argument that zoning, environmental regulations, and other government actions that substantially limit the use or decrease the value of property should be viewed as a form of eminent domain and thus strictly limited by the Constitution. The result was a firestorm of outrage, followed by a trickle of acknowledgment that maybe the guy was onto something.
As Epstein told reason in a 1995 interview, I took some pride in the fact that [Sen.] Joe Biden (D-Del.) held a copy of Takings up to a hapless Clarence Thomas back in 1991 and said that anyone who believes whats in this book is certifiably unqualified to sit in on the Supreme Court. Thats a compliment of sorts.
But I took even more pride in the fact that, during the [Stephen] Breyer hearings [in 1994], there were no such theatrics, even as the nominee was constantly questioned on whether he agreed with the Epstein position on deregulation, as if that position could not be held by responsible people.

This is almost a year old, but how nice would It be to see Richard Epstein and Obama in a one on one debate. No prepared questions, no teleprompter. It'd be like a major league pitcher up against a kid playing t-ball

Grading Barak 0bama is a false premise. That’s like grading the kid in gym class who set fire to the wrestling mats. It sorta misses the point.

Here we go again. I have seen NUMEROUS stories about “grading barak”.
All i want to see are his REAL grades. I think we all know that they are worse than those of Kerry, Bush, maybe even as bad a Gore’s. If not they would be waved in our face 24/7

Grading Obama would be like asking a person whose house just burned to the ground with all his possessions, “how's things”. Pretty ludicrous. Look around you. Never mind what the piece of crap media says is happening. It's amazing how the media allows BS to go unchallenged. The unemployment rate doesn't count people who have stopped looking for work or for the eliminations of jobs in the market place. That's great math. It's like the question asked by a chief executive when hiring an accountant to take care of the books. He asks how much 1 + 1 equals, the only one to get the job answered, “anything you want to make it”. That is the grade for this clown in the WH.

“Grading Barak 0bama is a false premise.”
...agreed. Grading him on his success of treating a Republic like a Dictatorship...A+. Otherwise, a moot point.

Yes,, that would be a debate to see. Obama is supposed to be this intellectual debate giant. But he has only debated Hillary, Edwards, and John McCain.
Obama is barely literate, and has never faced a true opponent.
Im mostly in for Newt, not completely happy about it, BUT, id love to watch the Academic fraud in chief debate Newt.

A fsiling grade on all counts AND my remedy is that he be expelled and not allowed to repeat his failures.
Arrogance, ignorance, and stubborness are curable. Blindness, deafness and pure hatred for America are not curable. He needs to be impeaches and I hope he is before he totally destroys this country.

I had the same quandry (deciding) on South Park’s “Douche or Turd Sandwich” episode. In this instance, I’d have to go with “TurDouche Sandwich.”

I wish somebody else on this thread would read the article. The point made about inducing your opponent to make his best argument by asserting your own provocatively is a very good one enough on a FR thread.

Yes, it bores into the subject, like a drill bit seeking black gold under strata of rock. Happy New Year.

The article was fascinating. I would hate to have to justify any program or proposition if Epstein was against it. It is encouraging that we have people with this level of clarity of thought still around in this country.
