Posted on 01/04/2012 5:56:48 PM PST by JustaDumbBlonde
There exists somewhere in FReeperland, a master list of all of the ping lists, and I used to keep a copy of it on my computer. Unfortunately, when my old computer died, it did so suddenly and I didn't have that particular file backed-up.
Jim suggested that I post a thread asking for assistance, because he did not have a link to the thread that I'm looking for. I sent a FReepmail to the FReeper who used to keep the master list and I didn't receive a reply. After looking at the posting history of the FReeper, I see that she has only posted in forum a couple of times in the last 2 years. Not hopeful in finding what I need down that avenue.
Does anybody have a copy of the master list, or possibly even a link to the thread? If so, please let me know.
If it turns out that the master list of ping lists is not being maintained at this time, please let me know if you would be interested in helping me put this information together again. I'd sure be happy to take on part of the duties.
Thanks in advance. I remain, maybe more than ever,
Go easy on me gunner ...
You, too, Laz.
It’s an oldie.
The 2004 update to the 2001 ping list.
(But it seems to me someone was doing an update a few months ago...)
There was a list published a few years ago but it has not been kept up to date at all. The gardening thread was never added to the list - I had requested an add.
Good Luck. I am sure a FReeper knows who to contact.
The last one I remember was done by FReeper cgk.
That was part of what started this odessey on my part. I wanted to make sure that The Weekly Gardening Thread was on the master list.
Also, I was planning ahead for when the gardening list got to 500 strong. I have us at 494 as of today and was wondering how other ping lists stacked up.
There was a list that was in table form, very colorful, and listed each ping list and who kept the list.
This is the thread I was thinking of from last year. Don’t see the gardening thread on it.
That was my recollection too, and that is who I FReepmailed looking for the list.
Yep! That is the same list I saw a few years ago. It was impressive.
But, I do feel that the master list is something that ought to be maintained.
Might be this one: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1811878/posts?page=306#306 but hopefully there's something newer in the works....
I love that on the 2007 master list, “Nuke the Left” is listed under “Hobbies and Interests”.
No worries, I’m the kinder, gentler version. ;-)
I'm gonna work on it as I find time. Hopefully, I'll have something in a month or so.
Humor is one of the best things about FR.
Laz keeps two ping lists and they both contain everybody on FR.
One is the People Who Piss Me Off ping list.
The other one is People I Would Hit ping list.
You're VERY welcome!

You will be henceforth addressed as "Most Dearly Beloved JADB" and your praises will be sung to the Heavens. How many times have we gone searching the List of Lists only to find that it doesn't contain the information we need...??
Even if the month stretches to a year, you'll be in for the highest of honors and accolades.
Holy cow! You’re welcome!
Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!Whoa! That's cool.... but not as cool as "Iron Anne Rackham". That is seriously impressive!
Hey I like Mad Tom Kidd, that is cool. I’d be proud to have ya fightin’ beside me on me ship anytime, mate. Arr!
