So, what are YOU serving at your Super Bowl party?

Sitting here now smoking a pork shoulder...not exactly a NY dish, but I'm in MD now and have Virginians coming, so they get it. Son-in-law bringing Boston Baked Beans for the Pats symbol; also, my beautiful wife making pizza appetizers using sliced-in-half pita bread and fontina cheese. Veggies and dip, chips and dip (crab dip for MD), mac and cheese coming, potato salad and cole slaw for pulled pork. Also, Kosher hot dogs for friend who won't eat the pork...plus sauerkraut and fried onions to go with the dogs.

We are all Giants fans...so GO BLUE! We always have LaBatt's Blue at our tailgates in Jersey, so we have that ready too.

Good afternoon.

We are serving fried alligator, roasted pig, and mud bugs. All harvested from the Florida swamp. Life is good...

Making ribs from Gratiot Market, Detroit.

Macomb Twp. isn't far from anyplace in Michigan so what time should I be over and what can I bring?

Here’s a family favorite that I found on all recipes a few years ago.

jalepeno Popper spread

2 packages cream cheese
1cup mayo
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
4 oz can green chilis
2 oz chopped jalepenos ( add more for more heat I usually use 4 oz)
Heat in microwave until it starts to bubble a little an I serve it with pretzels

Yum

Football fans everywhere are preparing to settle in for the NFL’s biggest and most electric weekend of the season—a four-game playoff marathon that will swallow up at least 12 hours of broadcast time over two days.

But here’s something even dedicated students of the game may not fully appreciate: There’s very little actual football in a football game.

According to a Wall Street Journal study of four recent broadcasts, and similar estimates by researchers, the average amount of time the ball is in play on the field during an NFL game is about 11 minutes.

Hahaha! Just got back! Two full sized slabs baby back ribs - $18 bucks total! And they are SO tender. Best in town! Ronnies at Gratiot Central.

Ah, you can bring the beer!

Chips, dip and beer (Samuel Adams)

Just me at the party and the Broncos didn’t make it.

Since I’m on midshift, I may not make it through the game.

LOL speaking of Bongs our local tobacco shop has some beautiful ones. They claim it is for tobacco. If I did not have children I would purchase one and display it in the living room.

A friend (and fellow New Englander) just got home from the sandbox Thursday, so we are going there. So I am bringing chili, hot spinach artichoke dip, buffalo chicken dip, red velvet cupcakes and football themed sugar cookies. Not overly creative, I know, but they were all requests. Oh, and our beer is Yuengling and Sam Adams.

We won’t be watching so it doesn’t matter to us. It should matter to those in charge but... however, we don’t have to be a part of it. We LOVE our remote. :) Go Eli. :)
