Via Byron York, Rick Santorum's advisers are frustrated by the focus on Santorum's "Satan" and "good and evil" comments without similar attention to Mitt Romney's faith:
[S]pecifically religious questioning of Romney is as rare as specific Romney statements about Mormon beliefs. Given the current grilling of Santorum, that is a source of growing frustration to Santorum's advisers. "Why is Mormonism off limits?" asks one. "I'm not saying it's a seminal issue in the campaign, but we're having to spend days answering questions about Rick's faith, which he has been open about. Romney will turn on a dime when you talk about religion. We're getting asked about specific tenets of Rick's faith, and when Romney says, 'I want to focus on the economy,' they say, OK, we'll focus on the economy."
With the headlines Santorum's faith has made, and the fact that today is Ash Wednesday, issues of faith and religion are sure to come up at tonight's debate but whether that includes focus, by candidates or moderators, on Romney's Mormonism is an open question.

Because every religion is sacred to the secular. Except Catholicism. Besides, Mormons have same PR people as Muslims, apparently. allow me to add that Morms and Muzzies have people in high places; whereas the Catholics in high places sold their puny little souls long ago.

Yep and because the vast majority of voters have no clue or interest in finding OUT about Mormonism.
I expect that from non-Christians but it’s disturbing when CHRISTIANS spew and buy into this nonsense because they are too dang lazy to find out the truth.

...because Obama wants to use the Mormonism comments later?

BTW why isnt this over in the Religion Forum? Oh yes thats right Mormonism is not a credible religion..Oh, it's a credible religion. The religion just isn't Christianity as the Mormons claim.

I am pleased, however, with the progress the Flying Inmans have made here on FR in showing people the truth of Mormonism. The tone and view of the LDS has greatly changed the last few years and that is a good thing.
Now, we just need to reach the REST of the voters with what Mormons really believe/teach.

Here's my "Two Cents" on this news article ... with all deference to Free Republic's famous "JohnHuang2" of ages past ...
Many folks have been speculating that Willard and Rickey have a secret "under the table" agreement to clandestinely support each other ... and they would be the GOP Ticket emerging from the 2012 Tampa Convention ...
Indeed ... to aid as a possible DISTRACTION to this theory ...
Rush Limbaugh today (2012-02-23) opined at length (strangely repeating himself several times) ...
that Rush Limbaugh thinks that Willard and Dr. Winkie (Ron Paul) have a secret agreement to support each other ...
I call Rush's comments a deliberate distraction ...
In fact, and I think History will reveal, that Willard and Rickey DO have a SECRET agreement ...
and Rush Limbaugh ... being a semi-closet supporter of both "Bain Capital" Romney ... and "I'm NOT Newt Gingrich" Rickey Santorum ...
is trying to distract us with this Ron Paul nonsense ...
====================================
"Dittos" ... as Rush Limbaugh would say ...
To this suddenly appearing article in that Bastion of Truth ... "The Politico" ... a business-subsidary auxilliary of "The Washington Compost" ...
WHY would "now" someone (publicly) begin to raise the NUCLEAR ISSUE of Willard's role as a Mormon Archbishop ?
And ... WHY ... would that "someone" be linked to Mr. Metrosexual Ski-Sweater Ricky Santorum ?
It's still the "usual suspects" of course ...
The Politico uses "unnamed" sources on the Santorum Campaign ...
"How convenient", as The Church Lady (Dana Carvey) would observe ...
====================================
Is The Politico just "firing a shot" across Mitt's bow ... in exchange for a Quid-Pro-Quo "exclusive" interview with the Archbishop ?
Or is The Politico trying to TORPEODO the "secret" Willard-Rickey alliance ... to help preserve an 2012 election victory for The Kenyan ?
"Film at Eleven" ...

I think the answer to this is obvious: they are saving it for the general.

If Romney can’t break free from something as demonstrably untrue as Mormonism, what kind of president would he be?

(If you can define a man by the depravity of his enemies, Rick Santorum must be a noble soul indeed.)
