Global warming: Earth heated up in medieval times without human CO2 emissions

Current theories of the causes and impact of global warming have been thrown into question by a new study which shows that during medieval times the whole of the planet heated up.

It then cooled down naturally and there was even a 'mini ice age'.

A team of scientists led by geochemist Zunli Lu from Syracuse University in New York state, has found that contrary to the ‘consensus’, the ‘Medieval Warm Period’ approximately 500 to 1,000 years ago wasn’t just confined to Europe.

In fact, it extended all the way down to Antarctica – which means that the Earth has already experience global warming without the aid of human CO2 emissions.

You mean no one was exhaling during the medieval period?

Well of course. They didn't have beano back then.

Maybe that will be the next "mandate".

Medevial period? Was that the time of the black death when about 1/2 the population died?

Or burning anything? I don’t buy the anthropogenic global warming theory at all, but humans had been keeping warm and cooking and lighting their way by burning stuff for millennia by the time the Middle Ages rolled around. The morons in the Carbon Cult will probably eventually realize this and say “Aha, the plague was the only thing that saved us from roasting the planet; global warming is real!”

Was that the time of the black death when about 1/2 the population died?

That occurred during the Little Ice Age that followed the warming period. There simply wasn't enough food available to feed everyone during these cold spells, and millions simply weren't healthy enough to combat plague and other diseases.

Humans at the time could have burned pure coal if they had had it, 24/7/365, and they wouldn’t have caused a significant amount of CO2. The fact is or was that the population at the time was numbered in mere single-digit millions. Today we have single-digit billions of people staying warm and cool by burning stuff. Figure a thousand times the CO2 output today as then. Yet they had global warming. You can’t inject sufficient doubt with that argument.

Computer models do not predict the Medieval Climate Optimum, therefore it never happened. And even if it did, it was caused by evil Republicans and their SUVs, or it was Bush’s fault. (/s)

These guys lost all credibility when it was discovered Mars had global warming.

I mean, how could we have any effect on Mars!!!

My point was more that I would expect the Carbon Culters to jump to the conclusion that mass death followed by cooling indicates a causal relationship. And, sadly, a little morning Googling shows they did in fact beat me to the idea:
