CNN have reportedly been informed of the contents of emails between top Penn State officials that allege a cover-up of a 2001 incident involving Jerry Sandusky, and the messages seem to implicate that it was Joe Paterno's idea to not report Sandusky

Anything short of Penn State University bulldozing its football stadium and all facilities dedicated to the football team should be unacceptable.
The people at CNN are left-wing liars. So far, we don’t have the emails, but only a detailed description of what the say.
The decision to cover up was made between the athletic director and the President, AFTER Paterno passed on what he had been told to them. Maybe Paterno should have gone around his bosses when they decided on the cover up, but they were the guys who made that decision, not Paterno. Theirs was the primary responsibility for the coverup.
Of course left-wing CNN wants to shift the blame from a pro-gay-rights President to a Catholic icon. Somehow or other gay rights in academia have nothing to do with it.
Paterno is burning in hell right now.
Lou Holtz’s first commenton ESPN hinted that he believed Paterno knew. I guess ESPN then told him to shut up.
>> Will the University remove his name from the library and the statues of Paterno leading his players onto the field?<<
I am not 100% sure but I think that is what they did with Pete Rose...
And then nuke the site from orbit; just to be sure.
Good for you! Vindication is a great thing. I was flamed for suggesting Justice Roberts was a creep...and then his ruling came out...
I remember last fall there was a football game on TV including Penn State (I forget who they were playing) and the announcers were beside themselves with excitement over the prospect that Joe Paterno could break the record for wins--which he did because Penn State won the game. The scandal broke not long after that.
Who knows how many boys were victims of Sandusky in addition to the ones who have come forward? A lot of them could have been spared if Sandusky had been prosecuted after the first case became known. But it was too important for Penn State for him to stay on as coach and Joe Paterno got his record number of wins.
Anybody that would have spoke out on this perverted homosexual. Would have been tagged a homophobe.
So, it was about as bad as anyone would have guessed, and I continue to be astounded by the things some people put in emails, as if emails are the most private and secure of communications.
From what we know of Penn State and Joe’s influence there, I strongly suspected he was one of Sandusky’s boy sex ring cons. He did not think the rape of boys was a big deal. He and others in leadership were most likely involved in passing around the boys on a deeper level.
Knowing how successful pedophile rings operate, they thrive with protection in power. The rich and powerful most likely enjoyed their access to Jerry’s boys. Sandusky might just be the fall guy for a lot of perverts. That is how it usually works.
Would not surprise me at all.
One of the reaons I do not really bother with ESPN except for highlights. When it comes to hard hitting stories ESPN goes ostrich and that is why Yahoo Sports and SI kick ESPNs arse when it comes to investigative journalism.
Such a revelation would have destroyed their football program. Better to let the lives of young boys be destroyed. After all, what’s the worst that could happen to them? They could become homosexuals, pedophiles, serial killers, psychologically disturbed fathers, husbands, or always think there is something wrong with them. It’s nothing compared to a football program.
If Joe Paterno did know what was going on, his estate should be sued for every cent it has.
Maybe Penn State can borrow some money from the Catholic church.
The report, focusing on a series of emails after McQueary's initial reports about the incident, suggested that shortly after receiving them, then Vice President for Finance and Business Affairs Gary Schultz developed a three-part plan to talk with Sandusky; contact the Second Mile the youth charity Sandusky founded; and inform child welfare authorities. But that plan was put on hold, the report stated, Feb. 27, when Schultz received an e-mailed reply from Athletic Director Tim Curley apparently after a discussion with head football coach Joe Paterno in which Curley suggests talking with Sandusky directly before alerting any outside authorities.
"After giving it more thought and talking it over with Joe yesterday, I am uncomfortable with what we agreed were the next steps," CNN quoted Curley as saying in an email. Curley indicated, according to the report, that he planned to talk with Sandusky and also contact The Second Mile, but not necessarily the child welfare office if Sandusky cooperated and got professional help."
That email is quoted in any number of news articles, including PennLive
Some sources incorrectly report that Jonathan Dranov, M.D., who was called to the McQueary household 'that evening' testified that McQueary told him that he didn't see any sex.
That's not the case. Dranov asked McQueary three times if he saw any sex and said McQueary broke down each time and couldn't talk about what he saw. He'd start talking about the sounds and try to go forward from there, and then just break down. Dranov said he'd known McQueary for years, that he was a strong young man, and that he'd never seen him break down.
There may be confusion over exactly what Mike McQueary saw that night, but whatever it was, it sincerely affected him.
Well, within three days or so of the date the Grand Jury presentment was released, another dozen boys came forward. They weren't included in this trial.
Within ten days or so, 20 or so other boys had come forward.
For the record, the majority of male sexual abuse victims never come forward. Also for the record, FBI crime stats indicate that homosexual (they won't call it that - they'll call it men molesting boys) pedophiles greatly eclipse the average number of victims of men who molest girls. If Sandusky is average, he'll have over 175 victims. I get the feeling Sandusky was a high achiever.
Question now is: how many other Penn State football program coaches/staffers and Penn State college administration officials may be facing the same Federal charges?
