Rick Calamaro, Charlie Sheen’s former longtime personal assistant and close friend, was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment Sunday.
The 46-year-old club promoter had reportedly been dead for a few days when police found him, according to TMZ.
"Numerous pain medications and an open bottle of alcohol" were littered in his apartment, the site reports.
Calamaro was considered one of Sheen’s closest friends and was reportedly present during Sheen’s infamous 36-hour drug binge in October 2010.

Might be a wakeup call for Charlie.
It’s always bad news when a life is wasted. Even if it’s not bad news to have one less waste around.
The difference (so far, I still have hope for any addict if they still breath) is that I finally surrendered. I surrendered to my addiction and to the program of recovery. I even surrendered to God's will.
Surrendering is the most powerful thing you can do when it comes to stuff like this. Once you get out of the ring with Mike Tyson you can stop getting the s**t kicked out of you.

Infamous? John Belushi’s binge was infamous. This was another weekend at the Sheen’s house.
