Ordered my replacement CZ-82 today. Looking forward to getting it.
I was doing some internet searches yesterday and I found that I am not the only one that has bulged a CZ barrel. I found three or four stories of guys getting squibs unknowingly and then bulging the barrel with the next round. (They were using Wolf ammo.)
I'm definitely gonna look for alternatives to Silver Bear for future ammo purchases.

A cowboy from Texas attended a social function where Barack Obama was trying to gather support for his Health Plan. When Obama discovered the cowboy was from President Bush’s home area, he started to belittle him by talking in a southern drawl and single syllable words.
As he was doing that, he kept swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head. The cowboy says, “Y’all havin’ some problem with them circle flies?”
Obama stopped talking and said, “Well, yes, if that’s what they’re called, but I’ve never heard of circle flies.”
“Well, sir,” the cowboy replies, “Circle flies hang around ranches. They’re called circle flies because they’re almost always found circling around the back end of a horse.”
“Oh,” Obama replies as he goes back to rambling.
But, a moment later he stops and bluntly asks,
“Are you calling me a horse’s ass?”
“No, sir,” the cowboy replies, “I have too much respect for the citizens of this country to call their president a horse’s ass.”
“That’s a good thing,” Obama responds and begins rambling on once more.
After a long pause, the cowboy, in his best Texas drawl says,
“Hard to fool them flies, though. “

Wow the eye relief is really far back compared to my scope.
I saw a really nice looking Eddystone M1917 at the gun show today. I was really tempted to buy that thing!
I have plenty of large centerfire rifles. I really like this gun. The G2 contender won’t handle high pressure loads anyway. I’d have to move up to the Encore to handle the .308.
I have a question...I have a Mossberg 500 12 ga with 24 & 28 inch barrels. If I were to scope it for deer hunting (or other purposes) what would you all recommend?
One friend of mine said ‘a Red Dot, Low Magnification’. Please confirm, or offer your own ideas. Some of you of course, may say, don’t scope a shotgun...if that is your thought, share it...
I was thinking for deer but sounds like you have that covered.
Your comment about Silver Bear ammo gives me pause. Some time ago I was told by an ammo dealer that Silver Bear and Golden Bear were decent 7.62x39 ammo for my AK. I have both but seldom shoot them (putting a lot aside for future "problems").
Have I gone astray here?
I assume one of the barrels is rifled? I have a friend who is a long time and very successful deer hunter here in the Midwest and he likes a slightly magnified red dot. Most shots are going to be in the 60 to 75 yard range. With the newer sabot or or rifled slugs you can reach out to almost 200 yards accurately (not sure I;d try a shot that long).
