Sack Race
Todays the day, were in a line,
All bathing in the warm sunshine,
That time of year, the school sports day,
Im entered in the class sack race.
Now teacher cries out ON YOUR MARKS,
My heart a thumping, hand on sack,
But Lucy goes off way to soon,
And tangles with the egg and spoon.
Our teacher yells GET BACK IN LINE !,
And starts us all a second time,
With fingers gripping to my sack,
I start to hop, and so does Jack.
So too does Mick, Kate, Ruth and Zack,
Lance, me and Lucy at the back,
Ive now just one thing on my mind,
To be the first to cross the line.
But Jack is hopping super quick,
Along with Lance and Zack and Mick,
Like four bull frogs all hopping mad,
Theyre boing boing boinging in their bags.
So Lance and Zack and Mick and Jack,
Are happily bouncing down the track,
But wait, CRASH ! WALLOP ! Jack and Mick,
Have formed a heap in front of Dick.
Now Dick is tumbling, so is Kate,
Like skittles in a summer fete,
So bouncing like a pogo stick,
I boing and bounce clean over Mick.
Now in the lead, Ive line in sight,
I bounce and hop with all my might,
Then wearing broad grin on my face,Cry out
Ive won my first sack race.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list
But God
August 1, 2012
Howard Sugden, my pastor when I was in college, preached many memorable sermons. After all these years, the one titled But God . . . still makes me stop whenever I come to those words in the Bible. Here are a few examples of verses that encourage me with the reminder of Gods righteous intervention in human affairs:
You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to . . . save many people alive (Gen. 50:20).
Their beauty shall be consumed in the grave . . . . But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave (Ps. 49:14-15).
My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever (Ps. 73:26).
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:7-8).
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard . . . the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit (1 Cor. 2:9-10).
Whenever you feel discouraged, look up some but God verses and be reassured of Gods involvement in the lives of those who love Him.
Creator of the universe
Who reigns in awesome majesty:
How can it be that Youre involved
With such a one as me? Sper
Gods involvement in our lives should reassure us of His love.
Read: Romans 5:8-11

Nothing could make me happier than to see our new President sworn in and the O sitting there saying to himself, “What could have went wrong?” I gave everybody everything.....LOL! Thats the problem.....MAN!!!!! Don’t you understand???
When Cheney said the other day “Sarah Palin wasn’t ready to take over as President.” Does he really think that the O was ready to be President?? Give me a break!! Thats the first thing Cheney has said that made me angry. If only someone had been smart enough to ask him that question!!
I gotta run out....see ya’ll later!

Welcome to August FRiends. Time marches on. Busy time for most as preparations begin for school again. Hard for me to realize that Emma will be a big second grader. BTW, she had her tonsils and adenoids out today. Poor baby, I imagine tomorrow will be a pretty bad day for her. Today she was still under the influence and was feeling pretty good. I kept “little Houdini” today also. Talk about a challenge. She is so funny but she has this incredible talent for disappearing and turning up in the oddest places. Turn your back and she will be standing in the middle of the dinner table, or hiding in a tiny space between a chair and the wall. You have to laugh at her antics.

Oh yorkie, he did very well for his first longgggg ride. He only missed one day. He rode 360 miles. He raised $2,399.02. The 2 cents are significant. It is there because the children at our annual camp meeting held a competition between the boys and the girls to see who could bring in the most change from piggy banks, parent's pockets, begging, etc. They raised $500 and 2 cents. I love seeing that 2 cents because those kids worked so hard and gave so much.
I need your mailing address so Roy can send you a thank you card. It was so sweet of you to help out. He really appreciates everyone who gave (and I love you). What he did was extremely hard. The weather was so hot. One day it was 105 degrees and he rode 87 miles. The other days were almost that hot. When he got home his feet and legs swelled, but I had him drink a lot of water to flush the toxin out of his body from all the stress he put on it and he's better today.

Great to read about Roy and his 360 mile ride. Glad you were able to address the dehydration he experienced. Make sure you tell him Thank You from all us FReepers.
Will be going to the Dr tomorrow to check on my spine issues and my Monday collapsing leg and the injuries I sustained. Sure wish I was a lot younger. Getting old seems to draw more injuries.
Guess I should be grateful that things were not alot worse. When I fell into the pool, I could see perfectly cuz I had my glasses on. My cell phone didn’t survive the accident however, my hearing aides and bluetooth managed to survive the ordeal.
I’m getting a signal from my cell phone but it appears there is still water in the cell phone. I’ve got it dehydrating in a bag of rice and I keep getting a message that I need to re-set my default options.

Take Notice
August 2, 2012
While standing in a checkout line, I was estimating my bill and trying to keep my son from wandering away. I barely noticed when the woman ahead of me shuffled toward the exit, leaving all of her items behind. The clerk confided that the woman didnt have enough money to pay her bill. I felt terrible; if only I had been aware of her situation earlier, I would have helped her.
In the book of Ruth, Boaz became aware of Ruths plight when he saw her gleaning in his fields (2:5). He learned that she was recently widowed and was the breadwinner for herself and her mother-in-law. Boaz saw her need for protection, and warned his harvesters to leave her alone (v.9). He supplied her with extra food by instructing his workers to let grain fall purposely (v.16). Boaz even addressed Ruths emotional needs by comforting her (vv.11-12). When Naomi heard about this, she said, Blessed be the one who took notice of you (v.19).
Are you aware of the needs of the people around youin your church, neighborhood, or under your own roof? Today, consider how you might help bear someones burden. Then you will be fulfilling Gods plan for you (Gal. 6:2; Eph. 2:10).
Help me Lord, to notice
The hurting, sick, and lost;
Guide me as I help them
Regardless of the cost. Schuldt
God works through us to meet the needs of those around us.
