Chick-fil-A worker bullied by executive says she wants to meet him
DailyMail ^ | 8-7-12 | James Nye

The Chick-fil-A staff member who was verbally abused by a customer for the fast-food firms anti-gay marriage stance has said she has forgiven him and is willing to meet him.

The girl, who would only identify herself as Rachel, told Fox News that she bares no ill-feeling towards Adam Smith, whose anti-Chick-fil-A video stunt backfired on him last week causing him to lose his job.

'I do forgive him. I think he realizes how bad it was to make that tape,' said Elizabeth after hearing a snippet of Smith’s subsequent apology video. 'I feel sorry for him and his family, and for everything that has happened to him since.'

Being "Christian" and forgiving is one thing. Being foolish is quite another. (Who is advising her?) Arrrrrrrgh!

bares —> bears

Ignorant “journalists” and their proofreaders...

Not a real smart move for CFAGirl, either.

The one thing about true Christianity is forgiveness. Even when this cretin’s posings of wanting to apologize are only pathetic attempts to resurrect his pitiful life/employment/standing. If this woman wants to forgive him, fine. She should, however, allow no recordings, videos, etc. of the the event. He’s just there to get something to help rescue what he so foolishly threw away.

After viewing his videos, I'd give this guy a creep-factor of right around ten. If Rachel was my daughter, I'd be going more in the direction of issuing a restraining order, not meeting with him personally.

The interview is on video. IMHO, this was a very smart move on her part. She makes herself (and Chick-Fil-A) continue to look noble and honorable. In the old days, employers trained service workers to never hit back at irate customers; just stay calm and continue to be polite. It’s refreshing to come across an employee these days with that sort of training. She seemed to be using that training in her interview, too.

I am glad that guy got fired. Can you imagine having him as your supervisor? I bet his former underlings are dancing with joy now that he is gone.

The guy is a full blown jerk for his actions. She was doing her job and the guy was hassling her because his views are different than those of her CEO’s. She was going above and beyond the call of duty by putting up with his attitude. She should not apologize to him or meet with him. He should have to live with the consequences of his behavior. Common decency should have told him that it was wrong to verbally attack her.

How is she “being foolish”?

What course of action would you advise her to take?

Deny him the possibility of further publicity to faux apologize and he’ll scurry away out of the light like the roach that he is.

So this gal liked that five minutes of fame and now is hooked on it to crave more. Nothing at all to do with Christianity.

advice: go on with your life, stay away from this sick minded idiot, drop your desire to stay in the spotlight, and if you are a Christian, there is nothing to forgive here so don't drag your religion into it.

Anything else is being "foolish"

Not to meet with him personally. She could even go so far as to have a lawyer address a letter on her behalf with an acceptance of his apology.

If I were her Dad, I'd like to "meet" him, too.

I'd not advertise it, though.

Yep! I agree. The spotlight is not cool, when you're actually being stalked/used for one reason or another.

Forgiveness should follow contrition and repentance. Having made the mistake of wasting 8 minutes watching that video “apology” the boy put on YouTube, I saw no sign of repentance. It looked to me as if he was only expressing contrition as a way to lead into another pro-”gay-marriage” lecture.

Did you get the idea that the boy has changed his way? Or, did you the opinion that if he wouldn't have lost his job over it he'd be crowing about his little YouTube video all over the gay male websites today?

Nothing to do with Christianity? Christ, himself, taught that you must forgive in order to be forgiven. The Our Father, as taught by Jesus, says, “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

You are so far off base I don't know where to start. She has already forgiven him, she need not have to become a celebrity now. That would not be about him at all but about her own ego. How does Christ feel about that? Did you actually think I meant for her to NOT forgive him?

Yes, fish hawk, I actually did get the impression that you felt she was wrong to forgive, but only wanted more fame. I hope you forgive me for misunderstanding you.

You don’t think that a crazy guy filming you and badgering you while you are working and possibly trying to get you fired is something this girl needs to forgive? The guy was using her to try to make Chick-Fil-A look bad. He set her up to be fired and/or bullied by more crazy like-minded persons in this area. And there are a lot in this area!

The headline does not match what the story says. The story says she would be willing to meet the guy not that she wants to meet the guy.

As for fame, she didn’t ask for it. She works at a very busy fast food restaurant and is probably being reminded of this incident at least once every ten minutes if not more while she is working. Don’t blame her for the attention she is receiving. Blame the creep.

I have nothing to forgive you for. It was your mistake and now you admitted and corrected it. I will thank you though, the thought was nice.

So the headline is wrong so my post is legit. Take it out on the poster of the headline, not me. As far as “don't blame her for the attention” the media shows up at her front door, DON'T ANSWER IT. (unless ,of course, you don't mind the cameras and attention)

I think she's a great gal, but I am a little puzzled at her boyfriend's insistence that she not do interviews unless he's with her.

He seems a bit creepy. (the boyfriend that is...)

Hmmm... I didn’t know that. Checking into it further, I see what you mean. When someone does that, it always makes me suspicious, too. Maybe he just wants to be there for support. I don’t know... I don’t want to jump to conclusions here, but my experience has taught me to be suspicious about that, too... I see that he set up a website for her; a freeper linked to it here:
