Ladies: If you're having doubts about marrying your beau, you might want to take a step back. New research shows that a woman's hesitation before her wedding might predict a bumpy road ahead.
"People think everybody has premarital doubts and you don't have to worry about them," Justin Lavner, a UCLA doctoral student in psychology who led the study, said in a statement. "We found they are common but not benign. Newlywed wives who had doubts about getting married before their wedding were two-and-a-half times more likely to divorce four years later than wives without these doubts. Among couples still married after four years, husbands and wives with doubts were significantly less satisfied with their marriage than those without doubts. "
Lavner and his team studied 232 couples in Los Angeles during the first few months of marriage and then checked in on the spouses every six months for four years.

Momentum brings many people to the altar. Most nervousness is for a good reason.
Find out if they have debt before the marriage and how much. That will tell you a lot about them, especially if they lie about it.
Well, I had cold feet 30 years ago, lol. Still very happily married.
There’s nervousness about the wedding, as an event, and then there’s concern about being married to the person.
I.e. if you’re not “all in” you have a greater chance of later being “out”.
“Cold Feet” is a euphemism for the bride stopping one last time to decide if she can tolerate a lifetime of having sex with a man in exchange for whatever it is he has that she wants, whether it be property, money, fame, security, etc.
Not all women are this way, but there are enough to make it common. I’m lucky enough to have a wife that married me for love— I’m sure of this because I had virtually nothing when we married, and she’s still around 24 years later.
I had cold feet.....
Guess I’d better tell Mr G that we are in danger.... after 42 years.
