Instead of going into a blue flunk of Obama winning reelection it is time to stop whinning and get back to work. The positives that can come from this:

(1) Romney was NOT a conservative....he was merely the anti-Obama. Folks here on FR got way too invested in a candidate that they have known for YEARS was not a conservtive....NOT one of us. It amazed me how otherwise intelligent folks became invested in a poor choice that should NEVER have gotten the nod.

(2) Obama is going to mess things up really bad...especially the economy. Because of this, Conservatives will be able to pick up many more House and Senate seats in 2014 and 2016. If Romney had of been elected, we would have lost seats. Romney may well have hurt the brand of "conservatism."

(3) IF we conservatives can stop devouring each other and develope consensus, we can help ensure a REAL conservative is the candidate for the GOP in 2016. We need to start today on that. NO MORE RINOs picked by the GOP Establishment....in fact it is way past time to throw out the GOPe! They pushed Romney on us, he was a poor choice. They need to go, and future Romneys do as well.

(4) We still have control of the House.

(5) Things are bad, but IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD PEOPLE! We haved survived worse. Somethings to make things better, they have to get worse first.

Christian conservatives need to leave the worthless GOP and start a viable Conservative party. Or at a minimum go independent and refuse to support a party that thrust a New England liberal like Romney down our throats.

I reregistered independent a year ago. A pox on both parties.

Our only hope is that all the Republicans in Congress unite and we truly become "the party of no!" That is, 100% obstructionism, 100% blockage of anything and everything that socialist POS tries to implement. Make executive orders his only option right up to the point where he so obviously steps over the line we can impeach him and throw his backside in prison.

You hear me GOP? 100% obstructionism. Absolutely no compromise on anything or if I am still here in 2 and 4 years, I will vote out every single incumbent.

Rate we’re going: we won’t have elections in 2016.

your #2

Obama already messed things up yet he was re-elected. What does that tell you? that the american people want socialism. They want a leftist type of government. The GOP is dead. Ideas of freedom no longer matter because we have generations being raised and taught in the schools that the Government and Democrats are their friends and republican’s are the evil enemy that want to ruin everything.

America is toast.

Romney was just another Bob Dole and McLame. Until a real conservative becomes a candidate for Prez the conservatives will stay home.

In the mean time, we have to bear all the God dammed liberals gloating. I do hope the GOP holds the line in the house. Ideally, they would really starve all rat senate requests, or at least use that to get them to do what we want. Doubtful, it would require Bohner growing balls, but we can always hope. There are a lot of good conservatives in the House and Senate. We must continue to work on getting more governorship’s. As the saying goes, it’s always darker before the dawn.

I’m not “down in the dumps,” but I am going John Galt on these clowns. (And stocking up on stuff I like.)

I was just on the phone to apologize to my Air Force son for allowing the country I inherited to turn socialist on my watch.

I fear the beginning of a very uncivil war between the takers and the rest who actually work.

How any republicans plan on winning any presidential election?

I see a lot of states turning more and more blue

what blue states are turning red? NONE

It’s only going to get worse as the years go on. they have total control of the media.

Exactly SV, these are the reasons I didn’t bother voting.

Romney was beyond my threshold line that he was not worth voting for.

Plus, we warned them all that Romney was a horrible choice that would split the party and not get conservative voters excited, but apparently the GOP-E thought they could win without us.

oops.

Maybe they’ll believe us in 2016

I just don’t care any longer.

I pray for two things now.

Dear Lord, whatever is coming, let it come quickly, and please make my aim true.

Great post! I was so hoping for a better result tonight, but it was not in my control to get what I wanted. I kind of sensed this when people started saying we had a chance in PA. Just didn’t see some of these states coming through for us.

One thing’s for certain, the sh-t is about to hit the fan fullblast and it might not be so bad to have Democrats in charge when it does. People will get what they voted for. Be smart and put your faith in God, we win in the end. Don’t ever lose sight of it.

I am looking at the positive side.....future to 2016.

Obama will certainly mess up the country more in 4 years. If we nominate good candidates, and we have a whole bunch, starting with Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal etc who have genuine conservative records and are good politicians, the future looks bright. We will see a republican president in 2016.

Senate candidates such as Akin & Mourdock should be avoided because they are lousy politicians. Losing candidates do not further any conservative agenda. I am sorry to say the field of 2012 presidential candidates were not top notch.

Americans have lost their ability to rationalize. We will have to face a period of painful tribulation before we recover that ability.

When we must humble ourselves before God, and ask he may grant us reprieve as he sees fit.

Thank you for being one of the few voices of sanity on this board tonight. If anything, this election outcome will energize our side like never before. I expect to see the Tea Party steel its resolve to do whatever it takes to beat the demon back.

I also see this as a final repudiation of milquetoast Republican nominees, for the foreseeable future. Our side is going to be in NO mood to entertain supporting any but the staunchest conservatives for a very, very long time to come.

It's time for Reagan brand Republicans again. We will go on, and we will fight!

Romney was NOT a conservative...."

So Romney lost the "conservative" vote to Obama?

I think you better take a look at the votes. Obama won, NOT because Romney was "not a conservative", Obama won because there are NOW more STUPID people than rational people. A conservative is not going to win the "STUPID" vote.

The Bible says there is a time for everything. It’s now the time to mourn; don’t tell people to ignore this as if nothing happened.

I know what you’re trying to say, but I just don’t agree. The last four years were Barry’s warm-up to the REAL agenda; by 2016, the entitlement mentality will be so strongly entrenched in American culture that nobody who opposes it - read conservatives - will ever be nominated for the presidency, let alone elected.

No, it isn’t about figuring out how to win in the future; it’s about figuring out how to survive.

Plan what? Our population does not want a conservative. Accept it! I used to think the same thing, that a real conservative could win. Nope. Look around! They don’t want it! They didn’t even want Romney’s half conservative. These people want communism!
