The mother of the teenage girl whose home was trashed after 800 people turned up to the birthday party she advertised on Facebook could be prosecuted, police said today.
Essex Police said they were considering bringing charges against former councillor Esther Hine for breaching the peace and for allowing underage drinking in her home.
Mrs Hine's semi-detached house was trashed after her daughter Sarah, 14, advertised her birthday party on Facebook and it was gatecrashed by hundreds of strangers who ripped doors off hinges, jumped through the loft floor, and scrawled on walls.
The trail of destruction began when what was supposed to be an early 15th birthday party for Sarah Hine's 30 closest friends turned into chaos as up to 800 people arrived with bottles of alcohol having seen the party advertised on social media sites

What an idiot!
Detached from what?
A semi, obviously.
It's $403K but you're right it's a dump. How did they fit 5 bedrooms in there? So, it was the neighbors' calls that got the cops there so why wasn't mama calling the cops? She ignored the school's warning so it seems she's more interested in being the daughter's friend instead of a parent. If that were my kid (no way would it have happened) but she'd be grounded off the computer and phone for the next year and would be learning carpentry skills.
Fortunately, my son told me about all those parties that started by well meaning parents and turned into Project X type events. Now.. my soon to be 13 year old asked me if I would allow her to have a party when she got into high school. My response, “H*ll no, no way, don’t ask again, don’t ask again ever and while we are on the subject.. you won’t be going to high school parties”.
In the county that I live in, the police have a party “jump out” squad. Seriously. They wait for phone tips about underage parties where alcohol could be involved and swarm the house. If one underage kid has alcohol on him or her, the parents are given a citation (essentially an arrest). Several parents have had this issued when one party goer “snuck” in a flask or hid a bottle of vodka (the new teen drink) under a jacket.
Sounds like a revenue scheme run by your disgruntled neighborhood snitch.

Local politician; sat on 'the local council', i.e. county supervisor equivalent. No brain; lot's of swag.
