The day after Valentine's Day and the 3rd Day of Lent has me reflecting on many things, but most important today...Love. There have been tens of thousands written, in all languages, depicting all kinds of love--for a family member, a friend, a teacher, our fellow man or even an object, a job, or other physical or mental endeavor...a spouse ...God. These are just five love songs from a very deep pool of love songs in the knapsack of my mind today.
1. I Kissed Ya The Everly Bros 2. You Send Me Sam Cooke 3. Wicked Chris Isaak 4. I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face Frederick Loewe Alan Jay Lerner. 5. I Can Only Imagine (with lyrics) - MercyMe
“In the Still of the Night”-The Five Satins
“I Only Have Eyes for You”-Flamingos
How about:
The Closer You Are Channels
1000 Miles Away Heartbeats
Love Call Ebonairs
That Was The Time 5 Discs
Lost Love Superiors
“Ebbtide”-Righteous Brothers
“Unchained Melody”-Righteous Brothers
“I Want to Know What Love Is”-Foreigner
Some beautiful love themes...

John Barry - Somewhere In Time (Original) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esrTfwBiOM0
Good choices, esp Lara’s Theme.
Hard to find any song to beat these two. Definitely makes it into the Hall of Fame of Love Songs.
Like Lara’s Song, a song without words, Somewhere in Time is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, but couple that to knowing it’s place in the movie, and it’s hard not to tear up every time you hear it. Great choice.
No doubt, a keeper, and Michelle Pfeiffer’s version in The Fabulous Baker Boys is a sleeper.
“Sleeper” meaning she knocks it out of the park!!!!
Four Aces: Love Is A Many Splendid Thing
Wow! These are great. I’m embarrassed, as I haven’t heard of some of these before. Jo Stafford, what a voice!!! Sounds like the Duprees stole the song, YOU BELONG TO ME, from her! Jane Green? I looked her up, too. Every song is a love song! Will take me a day or two to get thru the others. Great choices. Thank you!!!!!
Patti Smith? I’m embarrassed have never heard her before. Because the NIght, (just saw on Youtube) Blew me away!!!!!!
She makes Tom Perry looks like roadie.
Very few people know of Ebbtide. Great choice.
Love this song, and honestly had never heard it before. Wow...I don’t think anyone could sing it as well as Linda Elder. You hit a solid line drive over third base for a stand up double with this one.
