Huge building complex unearthed in Iraq near ancient civilisation of Ur

British archaeologists have unearthed a giant complex near the ancient city of Ur in southern Iraq.

The area is believed to have been home to Abraham, father of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

As the find is 4,000 years old, roughly the same age as Abraham himself, it raises the tantalising possibility of a direct link with one of history's most significant religious figures.

Complexes of that size from 2,000BC are extremely rare, according to Dr Campbell.

Abraham was not the father of Islam. The Muslims have rewritten history to make him one of their own. There was no Islam before Mohammed.

Actually Islam came from Ishmaels descendants, who was the son of Abraham and Hagar.

“Abraham was not the father of Islam. The Muslims have rewritten history to make him one of their own. There was no Islam before Mohammed.”

Ironically, Muslims are probably the direct descendants of Abraham than most Jews and almost all Christians.

Well Christians don’t claim to be descendants of Abraham unless they are both Jewish and Christian.

I have no idea how one could know what percentage of Jews or Muslims are descendants of Abraham.

I wonder how many people will see the significance of Abraham being both father to Islam and Christianity. The story/revelation needs to note that Christianity stays with Abraham, Isach, David to Jesus. Islam today comes from Mohammed 500-600 years after Jesus and springs from a son born to Rachael who was put out of the tent of Abraham. I believe Mohammad created modern Islam as payback for people accepting Jesus as Christ. Islam continues to this day It’s payback in forms of subterfuge and hatred of Christians. Islam has no honest intent to have the USA be anything but under Koran law.

Abraham is the father of the Judaism, which in turn by extension to Christians as well since Judaism is the root of Christianity...

Abraham is the father of Arabs...which did not embrace the filthy dog vomit death cult of Islam until millennial later...

Pretty big stretch...

Abraham, father of Judaism, Christianity and Islam

Sorry but Abraham is not the father of Islam. That right is reserved for Satan himself!

“I have no idea how one could know what percentage of Jews or Muslims are descendants of Abraham.”

I don’t think Abraham’s DNA has been sequenced yet, so percent wise it is kind of hard at the moment. However, given the geographic proximity and ancient stories and scripts, people in the Middle East have higher changes of being descendants of Abraham.

Wrong woman. I should have said Hagar who was the mother of Ishmael and who was removed from Abraham’s house.

It is great stuff but I notice how they refer to “western invasion” rather than “western liberation.”

Actually Islam came from Ishmaels descendants, who was the son of Abraham and Hagar.

Actually this is immaterial to the fact that Abraham did not father the religion of Islam. He may have fathered some of those who practice this religion, but he most assuredly did not father a religion based upon pure lies.

If a child of yours came up with a new religion that centered upon worshiping Satan, that would not mean that you fathered that religion.
