Calvin and Hobbes: The adult years [Fan trailer video]
Yahoo! News ^ | Apr 4, 2013 | Mike Krumboltz

What if Calvin of "Calvin and Hobbes" fame grew up? And what if, instead of leaving behind his talking tiger and visions of dinosaurs and life in outer space, those visions followed him, slowly turning him insane?

Well, it would make for one heckuva movie trailer, that's for sure. At least, so thought the good folks at Gritty Remakes, who created a pseudo-preview featuring Calvin as a college-aged man with a lot of issues. He still talks to his imaginary friend. His mind still goes on flights of fancy. But these aren't journeys of whimsy. The adult Calvin is a man on the edge.

I lost interest in comic strips years ago when Calvin and Hobbes ceased publication.

I have the complete works of C&H. I only read it once a year or two as once you start you can't stop!

I love his dad telling him how everything was black and white before the 1940s, and this one.

Pretty good (anyone catch those C&H in the real world pix?), but the next thing you know, Hollywood will make a movie about a kid whose teddy bear talks and now that he’s an adult he’s still with him, foul-mouthed; horny; sounds like Peter Griffin ...oh wait they did...

Watterson did such a good job of showing how children wrestle with complex ideas.

Indeed I do. Also; “Pickles”, “Baby Blues”, “Mutts” and “Get Fuzzy”. After that I read the Cesspool’s editorial page and try to determine which was more comical.

The transmogrifier series had me laughing for hours when I read it.

It still brings a smile to my face when it's even mentioned. Best comic riff ever.

I met Watterson's elementary school principle from Ohio, he was a dead ringer for the guy in the comic strip.
