Nowadays, a Whopper “Value Meal” at Burger King costs $7. Compared to that $3.549 for gas is cheap.

The variability is wild, isn't it?

What's going on, it can't all be county sales tax. Higher volume sellers benefiting from lower wholesale sooner? The good prices are always Hess, Marathon and Sheetz here. But even they vary widely from one town to the next.

$3.21 in NW Arkansas and $3.11 at Walmart/Murphy USA.

Walmart has been running a special — something like 10-cents off — and 15-cents off with a Walmart card.

I filled up April 15th at $3.31 at Walmart/Murphy USA. So, it has dropped about 20-cents since mid-April.

While it's true I'd like to see gas at $7 or $8 dollars a gallon so we are on par with Europe, I don't think we should try to get there all at once.

We need to ease into it so Americans can learn to live with reality. The price has doubled since I took office, but we still have a ways to go.
