Tatt's not fair! Man with inking on face says it's sad nobody will give him a job

Yusuf Kashif Hameed with facial tattoos
Ink about it ... Yusuf wishes he'd never had his tattoos done

But the 40-year-old from Batley, West Yorks, says the feedback is always the same — employers are turned off by his body art.

As well as the Buddhist symbol on his face, Yusuf has two Thai boxing designs and a yin yang symbol on the back of his head.

But he believes potential bosses should be more open-minded about his inkings.

Yusuf said: “It is really getting me down and it is so hard to think that these tattoos are such a strong barrier against me getting a job.

“I’ve been doing everything the job centre has told me and attended all my interviews but they take one look at my tattoos and won’t give me a chance.

“I can just see the person opposite me lose eye contact and focus on my tattoos.

Tatt's a shame ... Yusuf says his head tattoos put off employers

“I’m more than qualified for a lot of the jobs I have been for but they all tell me my tattoos do not fit the company image."

Yusuf got his first tattoo at the age of 14, but says he now wishes he had never had them done.

He added: “I used to hang around with a lot of lads older than me and they started getting them.

“I suppose it was peer pressure, but as a mature person I would not have got them, especially seeing the reaction from strangers."

However, Yusuf remains hopeful that an employer will eventually look past his body art and give him an opportunity.

He said: “People generalise and think I am not bothered about working and that I am a freeloader.

“I want employers to judge me on my skills and they will find out I’ve got lots to offer.

“Even if it is a week's trial, I just need that chance.”

Those same tatted gals probably have to have some new article of clothing everytime they turn around. They refuse to go out wearing the same thing twice and have a new hair style every few months yet they wear their tats 24/7/365. Sure, that Hello Kitty tat will be so “in” and so professional when they’re 30.

“One more facelift and her eyebrows are gonna be touching the tops of her ears.”

Not to mention she’ll have a goatee and bad breath.

In Christian circles, tattooing is seen as mutilation.

I know several wonderful Christian pastors who have tattoos.

Maybe you should be more specific, like "Christian Pharisee circles see tattoos as mutilation."

And, no, I have no tattoos.

Reminds me of the Prego commercial about previous questionable choices.

Maybe this guy should apply to Prego to be in their commercials.

File this under “I worked really hard to look like a freak and now I’m offended that people treat me like a freak.”

Correct me if I am wrong, but I didn't think the Amish were allowed to have tattoos.

So you are saying, “give up”?

Two negative’s make a positive.

If gotten before they were saved whatever, if gotten after being saved and especially after becoming a pastor then I would question the belief in the Bible being the absolute Word of God.

That headline should have a period after “sad.”

Yussif? May I suggest learning how to tattoo? Then apply at tattoo parlors. You’ll be right at home. You could also apply at head shops, alternative paraphernalia stores, and perhaps an X-rated porn store? It’s doubtful any of them will be paying more than more than minimum wage. There are consequences of poor decisions and not listening to your momma. She did say “Don’t do it!” didn’t she? Don’t say Freepers aren’t helpful.

Poor Yusuf. He’s a mentally disturbed tattoo parlor simpleton who needs to find a tattoo eradicator,

Unfortunately, "tattoo removal" is not only breathtakingly expensive and painful but oftentimes leaves the area worse off than before.  In Yusuf's case, the forehead tattoo would end up looking like a .30 cal entry wound, but that actually might be quite fitting for the patient in question and an aesthetic improvement.

but first he’s going to have to find out what happened to his life.

If he hasn't figured that out by now, I'm guessing that it would be counterproductive to hold one's breath waiting on that at this point.

I am a churchgoing Catholic, and I have numerous tattoos. I used to have several piercings as well, but those came out as I grew up and out of that phase. I am proud of my tattoos. They are not skulls or naked women or Chinese symbols. I have meaningful tattoos that represent me and for what I stand. I do not, however, have tattoos that are visible in proper work attire (shirt & tie).

One more facelift and her eyebrows are gonna be touching the tops of her ears.

One more facelift and she's gonna have a goatee.

That cute little dimple between her eyebrows? Belly button!

To Everyone:

If you know someone who is thinking about gettng a tattoo, and justifying it by saying "I can get it removed anytime" please have them read this article.

Tattoos have always had a stigma attached to them. In Christian circles, tattooing is seen as mutilation

Not always
