I first heard his name in Patty Smyth’s, “Heartache Heard Round The World.”

“...I’m not crazy, well maybe I am
‘Cause I just wanna sing like Bobby Blue Bland...”
Sad to hear. Used to listen to his music when I was a teen in the 50s. RIP.
A TRUE cultural touchstone! RIP, Bobby!
RIP to one of my long time favorites.
It seems like I can’t even turn around without somebody dying.

I saw him in Winston Salem, NC opening for BB King. By far, the best concert of my life. RIP BBB.
The world is a little quieter today and much sadder.
Wish I would’ve seen that BB King concert w/ Bobby opening. Favorite opening for BB King I ever saw was Edgar Winter. Wow, what energy and virtuosity!
Weird thing is, I thought of that concert this afternoon. Haven’t thought of it in 20 years but thought of BB King and Bobby Blue Bland.
RIP.
