From ORB LAB's FB page:
Shark fishing season has officially begun for the ORB LAB. Last Friday, a crew struck out to try and recapture sharks carrying tags containing valuable information about the species assemblage encountered by these coastal apex predators.
We caught one large female on our first line Friday, but we were not expecting to catch her like this! This unlucky smooth dogfish couldn't resist the menhaden used as bait and unfortunately fell victim to one of the top predators in the bay. The dogfish was about 3 feet long and completely swallowed by the sand tiger shark.

“It’s the Circle of Life....”
Arthur: Oh, stay with me, Hobson. You know I hate to be alone.
Hobson: Yes, bathing is a lonely business.
Arthur: Except for fish.
Hobson: I beg your pardon? Did you say “except for fish”?
Arthur: Yes... fish all bathe together. Although they do tend to eat one another. I often think... fish must get awfully tired of seafood. What are you thoughts, Hobson?
Hobson: Pardon me...
[rises, removes Arthur’s top hat and smacks him upside the head]
That happened to my son yesterday. He was pulling in a bluegill, and it was flapping about on the surface and a big ol’ largemouth comes up out of the weeds and gulps it right off the hook.
Sort of sums up life as well
Cool! I once pulled up a trotline that had a small catfish on a hook that was half swallowed by a larger catfish. It’s a cruel world.

this is about Wall Street...right.
Someone else apparently likes Darths and Droids. ;)
Yeah...ever’body’s gotta eat.
I went fishing while down in Aruba. Caught a dolphin and had it right next to the boat when a wahoo bit it in half.
Fish stole my dinner.
Google “fish eating other fish fossils” and hit images for this also happening a long time ago.

You were going to eat a dolphin?!
Tuna just doesn’t taste as good without a little dolphin meat thrown in.
When I was a kid we went camping and fishing next to a farm pond in southern Iowa. One morning I had a whole stringer of sun fish, and was keeping it in the water. Went back up to the campsite for a bit, came back down, and a huge snapping turtle had the whole stringer down his throat. Being young and stupid I grabbed hold of the stringer line and started pulling, thinking we would have turtle soup for supper. Well, the whole thing just kinda slid out of his throat and he swam away, leaving me with not much of anything but a few half eaten fish.
I’m sure it was dolphin, the fish, not dolphin, the mammal. AKA mahi-mahi, which is some fine eating. I got some out of Port Lucaya in the Bahamas several years ago, nothing like it that fresh.
I had a 45 pound grouper in April that the Captain yelled “Two fer”. When he threw it down it also had a legal grouper half down it’s gullet. The grouper will take anything it can put his head around.
