Breaking Bad- 509 (Spoiler Potential)

Posted on 08/13/2013 11:08:30 AM PDT by Mr. K

Who saw the first episode of the last season of Breaking Bad last night?

Is this the most awesome show ever on TV or what?

The acting is first rate all around.

When Hank punches Walt it looks like he is going to go all out right then and there, but as Walt circles back around him and stares Hank down at the end, it shows he is clearly in charge of the situation

I missed the trailer for next week.

Who wants to have a weekly Breaking Bad discussion thread?

I can’t wait to find out what Walt plans on doing with the ricin and M-60 machine gun.

I think the neighbor Carol who Walt said "hello" to twice in this episode is Vince Gilligan's real-life mother.

Please no spoilers anyone. I generally watch this incredible show on Netflicks which is always a season behind. The first half of season 5 was just released on Netflicks and I am devouring it. Glad to hear that the second half of season 5 starts out with a bang. Brian Cranston has created one of the most fascinating characters of all time in Walter White. “I’m not in the drug business - I’m in the empire building business”

Notice something about this show....WW has turned everyone his way from his wife, Jesse, Mike, the big chicken man, the old man in the wheel chair.....will he turn Hank, there is a lot of money on the table.

I don’t think he will turn Hank.

I believe this series can only end one way, with Hank dead or in jail, and probably dead.

I know but I prefer to wait and "power watch" an entire season in a few days rather than watching week by week. That's why I wait until the whole season is released on Netflics. I used to do the same thing with "The Sopranos" - even though I had HBO I always waited for the season to come out on DVD and would then watch the entire season in a weekend.

I agree . . . one of the best shows on television. So what happens? Will Walt and Jesse get sucked back into the trade? Will Hank get whacked now that he’s onto Walt? Will Walt get away with it all? Can’t wait to see it all unfold because I think they’ll be a few twists and turns that I never anticipated which is what makes watching the show so great.

I thought he called her Carol once and Karen once... it seemed odd to me

"Next week we should have a running thread sunday night!"

If a regular show thread develops then I could easily be persuaded to finish the first half of Season five on Netflics this week and start watching every week to join in the thread. I love this show. (although the scenes with Walt and Skylar generally drag - I wouldn't miss them at all)

I think everyone needs to remember the teaser at the beginning of the season. Walt had hair, and was turning 52. Either he beats cancer, or he’s dying. Either way, fantastic episode.

They had a “Talking Bad” show after Breaking Bad and the head writer was on it. His only hint was the woman who’d been shipping the meth to Czechoslovakia wasn’t going away.

I know how it all ends up, I saw the advance scripts....What happens is Walter declares himself a Democrat and all is forgiven, he is free to go.

“His only hint was the woman who’d been shipping the meth to Czechoslovakia wasn’t going away.”

Pretty clever to have some corporate executive who is in charge of logistics and shipping for a worldwide company handle the smuggling and distribution across borders. It’s so well done.
