Posting glitch with Chrome on Android? (vanity)

Has anyone else run into a posting glitch using Chrome on an Android device?

After receiving a Chrome browser update yesterday, I can no longer post to FR from my phone. (I had never encountered any difficulties before this update.) The first word that I enter as a reply to a thread gets repeated when I hit the space following it. Trying to position after the repeated word to delete it just repeats that same first word over and over. I've tried logging out of FR and back in again with no change.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Bob.

Ask a friend on how to completely remove anything related to google or it’s Chrome enforcer from your computer. Nothing good can come from it.

I don’t believe it’s just Chrome, and it’s not just Android.

Just saying.

Remove anything related to Google from an Android device? Do you understand what an Android device is?

Seems to work just fine for me. Checked on multiple Android devices.

Do you have the latest update to Chrome installed? (It was just released yesterday.) That's when my troubles started.

Thanks to all for the suggestions to get away from Chrome. While I've tried Firefox on my phone, I didn't like the look of it. I do have Firefox set as the default browser on my PC but just don't like it on the phone. I'll check on some of the alternative to Chrome for the phone.

I always have the latest updates, as I'm pretty much the unofficial tech support for my friends and family. Can you give us a few details? Version of Android, model of phone and carrier? For example, my HTC One X uses a custom rom, as I've had problems in the past with T-Mobile’s customization to the Android OS (not to mention big lags between Android updates...)

FreeRepublic is about as close as you get to text only. If you've got problems here, you've got problems everywhere.

I'm running the plain vanilla Android "Ice Cream Sandwich" 4.0.4 release on an LG MS770 phone. Nothing fancy.

I just tried logging onto another forum that I belong to with Chrome and I'm seeing the same problem when I try to enter my two-word user name on it. It's not an FR-specific problem.

I can post using gmail and text messaging with no problem (as well as with Firefox).

I think that I'll just install an alternate browser. There seems to be quite a few of them available. (I'm not crazy about Chrome anyway.)

It is a memory hog on a lot of devices. Try Dolphin Browser, I’ve had good luck with that in the part.

I don’t have one, but if it’s Google or its Chrome, I don’t want it no matter what it does.

I just installed the Dolphin browser. Looks good at first glance. At least I can post again. :=)
