The American thought the animal was a stray but discovered its collar the next morning
A drunkard is searching for a cat's owners after 'accidentally stealing' it after a boozy night out.
The unnamed man has placed an advert on Craiglist in a desperate attempt to find the pet's owner .
The American said he picked the animal up while walking home from a night out, thinking it was a stray .
But when he woke up the following morning, he discovered the cats collar with its name written across it.
Under the title Possibly stole someones cat when I was drunk last night (Chico), he wrote:
If anyone is missing a cat name Django (pronounced Jango the D is silent) I stole him last night. Not on purpose, I was extremely intoxicated and thought he was just some random stray I was rescuing.
It was not until this morning when I was haphazardly going for a glass of water that I remembered I took the cat and noticed that he a collar.
He added: If Django belongs to you I would like to give him back And sorry for stealing him.
The man also described it as a very frisky black cat [with] very sleepy eyes.

at least he did not try to _________ it!
I know how the guy feels. I’ve got one I wish someone would steal.
How do they know the D in Django is silent if the owner is unknown. Is it a talking cat?

Maybe it is a stray.
what if the J is silent?
Dango was his name-o
Catnapping?
Maybe he’s still ‘runk?
I’m not sure what this has to do with it looking sleepy.
:p
Even while drunk, the guy has his priorities straight.
He loves cats.

I like that.
yeah at least he didn’t microwave it
So who hasn’t got drunk and tried to pick up a little....well you know.
...and as for the cat, it could care less. Another house, free food and a servant willing to care of it.
He did not try to steal it, he tried to help it. I would rather have a million of these type drunk guys than one incredibly mean sober one. Mean sober ones tend to get meaner when drunk.
He’s just imagining he stole it because he is probably obsessing on the pain of the owner, and doubly so if he thinks he took a child’s cat.
If he would have been a mean guy, he would have scratches all over, and never would have gotten the little one home. Cat’s are very choosy about the people they pick for a home. And if they get a bad one, they go house hunting.
