Jews have a reputation for being smart. The fact that all three recipients of this year's Nobel prize for Chemistry are Jewish is yet another brick in the wall of that long-lived perception.

What are the odds that Islam “actually discovered/invented” algebra ?
I suggest that it was their Jewish Dhimmis.
My first teacher (in my profession) was Jewish. Their big thing always was...education, education, education.
If even half of that is true....I want to be a Jew!!
Maybe because they are SMART! They apply themselves and actually learn their trade and don’t expect anyone to hand them a Nobel prize for just breathing.

Jews value education, family, and entrepreneurship. The same values will lead to success for non-Jews.
The explanation is fairly obvious. Judaism does not discourage in any way learning things outside of Judaism. In fact, an important and somewhat radical concept found in Judaism is that a good idea is a good idea, no matter who thought it up, even their worst of enemies.
Add to that for many years, European Jews were restricted in what businesses they could engage in. They were generally allowed to work in intellectually oriented businesses. So being a scholar or mathematician, or working in financial matters was acceptable.
As I understand it, they got it from their Hindu dhimmis.
And Europe killed most of it’s Jews and then replaced them with more Muslims than you can shake a stick at.
Europeans are not very smart.
They are about as dumb as Americans considering the many mosques that deface the American skyline.
Islam had nothing to do with algebra. It was actually an Indian (possibly originally Chinese) calculation system that the Muslims stole when they conquered India.
Islam has nothing that it hasn’t stolen from other cultures after crushing them. And then that knowledge lasts for about one generation in an Islamic culture and is stamped out, since Islam is anti-knowledge because it believes that God cannot be known in any way, that creation is a random event that God may or may not decide to continue, and that Mohammed told people that the only way to deal with this irrational, unpredictable, angry deity was to follow his peculiar syncretist mixture of a sort of parody of Jewish and pagan ritual and civil law, called sharia.
Because he had the military force to back it up, people did it.
That’s why Islamic societies have nothing now and everything that they claim they had at one time they had to re-acquire from Christian, Jewish and even pagan society by means of secularization. And now they’ve destroyed even that.
Not just genetic. It’s cultural expectations. Jews are encouraged to study hard and to succeed.
Contrast that with America’s two foremost victim groups. (0 is a member of two of them) They moan and whine about how there are mistreated. They mistreat their kids and tell them they are worthless. They encourage dependency and parasitism. They mock hard work, study and achievement.
The results are as expected.
In the Old Testament God said he would bless Israel. These blessings were various and one was exceptional intelligence as we are seeing today as God’s chosen people.

Either way, it is extremely unlikely that it came from a Muslim.
BTW, I have had this thought for sometime and have yet to find any backing.

This is a fascinating question.
If Jews are so smart, why do they largely vote for Democrats ?

Because they’re voting against perceived “Christians”.
