Proof that liberals are cat owners and true conservatives are dog owners.

The funny part was that the dogs that fought back are the tiny ones...

Cats especially enjoy getting a ride as the dogs pull the beds around trying to dislodge them!

I had a cat and dog.

The dog was a GENTLE Golden Retreiver.

One time, I'm sitting on the couch, watching tv, with Cody (dog) laying at my feet.

Scamper (cat) comes out of the back room, where his pan was. Scamper had that look on his face, that kind of scowl that he's up to no good. Scamper is 15 feet away and Cody sits up, leaning against my leg. As Scamper walked closer, with that scowl, Cody backed his butt right up onto the couch, until he was sit/leaning against me to protect him.

Scamper walked right up to the couch with that look on his face, intimidating Cody.

Scamper was a 10#ish DECLAWED cat, vs Cody a 65#ish dog.

Given current politics, I prefer cats (we have had both).

After all, as the old saying goes...

“Dogs have masters, cats have staff.” :)

I own both. Does that make me an independent?

Hmm. Dogs default to pack behavior, while cats are solitary, patient, silent hunters. There are certainly political / cultural comparisons to be made, if you want to go there.

After much strife and conflict, and cuteness, the solution is to buy enough large beds so that each animal has its own. Then put a box down on the floor and watch the cats all cram into it and ignore the beds.

Considering I would classify independents as wishy-washy, non confrontational, go along to get along,

YEP!!!

They really do this to dogs and people. : )

Whenever my husband gets ready for bed and is brushing his teeth, the cat races to sit on his pillow. Then when he moves her she acts cranky about it. Every night, the same routine.

My golden has passed away but she always rushed to take his places when he was alive. Finally, he just laid down on top of her as if she was not there. She would get all huffy but move.

My kittie (God hold her soul when we are to be reunited) was moochele obozo — the whole world was there to kowtow to her every whim and ignore any hypocrisy.

But Musica was a CAT!

WTSHTF, I’ll take my dogs into the woods to hunt and y’all take your “kittehs”.

We’ll see who goes hungry that night.

I’ve probably hunted more with hounds than without, but that wouldn’t be my choice for a survival situation. Way too noisy.

You should get a pack of Ibizan Hounds.

Fast, silent and deadly.

You won’t even need a gun.

Very good in situations where you’d not want to be heard.

Throw in a few Dobes and there’s no limit to what they can bring down.

Hunting in heavy brush?

A Portuguese Podengo Medio will flush prey into the waiting jaws of the bigger dogs, even though it’s quite capable of killing it, itself.

All my dogs are very functional creatures.

:)

Fast food.

In Spain and Portugal, these guys are subsistence hunters.

It’s not a “sport”.

It’s how they eat.

The Portuguese immigrants here use Portguese Podengos for the same purpose.

Northern CA and the NE coast are full of them.
