The Hazards of Psychic Backlash

...

Moving on to the 1990s, there is the very unsettling saga of Ray Boeche, an Anglican priest and a former state-director for MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network. In 1991, Boeche met (at Lincoln, Nebraska) with two US Department of Defense physicists working on a project to try and contact what were termed “Non-Human Entities,” or NHEs. While the initial assumption on the part of the DoD team-members was that the NHEs were extraterrestrial, that view soon changed. And radically so, too.

Eventually, the project personnel concluded that far from being the aliens they purported to be, the NHEs were demonic – as in literally demonic. In other words, the DoD team concluded that the UFO phenomenon itself was born out of satanic deception, rather than alien visitation.

When the DoD scientists immersed themselves in the world of the NHEs, bad things began to occur. As Boeche told me, regardless of how benevolent or beneficial any of the contact they had with these entities seemed to be, it always ended up being tainted, for lack of a better term, with something that ultimately turned out to be bad. There was ultimately nothing positive from the interaction with the NHEs. Indeed, certain experimentation reportedly ended in death for some of those involved in the program.

...

You have been warned. In the world of the paranormal, it’s wise to tread very, very carefully…

cant seem to get the link as its a pdf file
But check this out on Chicks!

Google search: P.E.AR. robot chickens

about 4 lines down you will see the link
PEAR phychokinetic chickens. ....

read that paper

15 baby chicks follow a robotic device for extended periods around a wooden table. they are then caged on one side of the table and the robot spends an average of 71% of its time on the side of the table where the chicks are. the chicks want the robot near and succeed. no bad here

random expectation would only predict a 50% expectation

the construct of the test was to demonstrate that the chicks could mentally alter the outcome of what should have been a random 50/50 outcome

if you can understand what they have achieved in this test it is IMHO one of the greatest scientific examples of not only what consciousness is capable of but that it is not enhanced by higher intelligence or the ability of who is the deepest thinker.

Well, yes you can get supernaturally guided movement when using a Ouija. It happened to me and my mom decades ago. The stuff it came up with was pretty plain, it was about my brother on a scouting trip. But she was fascinated reading about weird stuff like Edgar Cayce. (I don’t suggest delving into that. It is deep occult.)

While you as a believer could ask the Holy Spirit to do that, and for all I know He might, I’d say why bother. The Lord will put scripture in your head when you need it. God usually tells you holy things to guide you. He isn’t (commonly) into future telling.

And being chickens, they may have done it through poltergeists.

(That’s German for chicken spirits.)

And anyhow... the lead article is very correct about warning about trying to interact with the paranormal in an unholy context. Don’t. Do. It. The bible warns about sorcery. Valid Judeo-Christian experiences are different. They are holy. The unholy will present a warped view of reality; the holy will present an honest view of reality. Remember, the PURPOSE of the supernatural entity is part of reality. God wants to bless and save and tell you truth. The devil wants to curse and get you lost and tell you lies.

“Ouija boards make good kindling.”

Except they burn for hours and hours. Screaming the entire time. (At least according to a childhood friend of mine when he told the story many years ago.)

My buddy had a Ouija board and it never worked. (Thank goodness). We found a crystal ball and tried having seances with that - never worked. (”Crystal” balls CAN be glow-in-the-dark plastic can’t they?)

We ended on a high note however. Rigging up his basement with fishing line attached to a lamp, a picture on the wall, and a wooden chair. Freaked out a couple of the girls when the chair moved, etc. as we asked “show usssssss a signnnn.”

Like I said, REALLY glad we never got it to work. I wonder if it had something to do with not really believing in that crap at a young age. (And now I do!)

You likely had sufficient holy protection to prevent the devil’s (demons’) involvement.

The devil tends to be drawn to severe weirdness, severe sin (and will try to further it). Demons probably are responsible for what is commonly known as generational curses. These curses can be broken by the power of the gospel.

No, darn it.

Sorry.

I just looked in the cabinet where I used to have it but it’s all full of art supplies now.

I have to think of where I moved all the stuff that used to be in there to.

Basically, it took myths and archetypes like fairies, elves, aliens, MIB and said that it was the same ‘spirit’ simply redressing itself appropriately for the current culture.

if you take the time to look at the PEAR project research you might be surprised at what their scientific research points to.

in all of my years of following their research i found nothing anti Christian. even better, some nice outcomes that point to the power of love, family, friendship and other positive aspects of life that Christianity

Anything paranormal that does not directly involve God is, in fact, anti-God. I will not let myself get deceived or confused by the devil’s expurgation of God’s reality.

You got that right.

I remember opening it and thinking “What?!?”.

I had no one to “play” it with and damned if I was gonna mess with it, myself.

Since I tend to packrat all my stuff from one house to another, it eventually made it here and I found it out in the smokehouse one day.

It was one of the old ones that were made of wood.

Burned real good.

:)

And the devil’s game is to take glory away from God, and make it look like it belongs to other entities. (Human selves, idols, animals, plants, putative lesser gods.) If they did get some holy data as well, fine. But I’m not going to fascinate myself with the unholy things they did.

You know better. Many people are ignorant and curious and have little or no concept of a demon.

I do know that Tarot cards scream when you burn them.

Not of the mind to say much more about that, if that’s okay.

That was a different life.

Might have been a demon complaining about the destruction of his plaything... anyhow, God is not just a little more powerful than demons, God is vastly more powerful. It isn’t even close to a fair fight when God is on an equal footing.

Sounds like a win-win.

You got rid of the insidious interloper and it went back home to (and in) a hideous raging inferno. :)

A question came up about demons, spirits, etc. on why they seem to be more prevalent in 3rd world countries? One of the thoughts was that Satan doesn't need to be so “in your face” to turn us Americans away from God as there are already so many other gods that we worship that distract us.

Made a nice [if noisy] little bonfire for a summer night.

:)

I tossed a bunch of stuff into the fire that night.

It was...kinda weird.

Very noisy.

I was relating childhood memories. At least at that time (way back in ancient history!), kids intuitively perceived that a foul spirit inhabited the board. Hence it was pulled out when we were in the rare mood to scare ourselves, not for light-hearted fun.

A demon roast, heh. Now if the noise were because they were griping about the fire... too bad. They should love fire. :)
