A newly translated Hebrew text claims to reveal where treasures from King Solomon's temple were hidden and discusses the fate of the Ark of the Covenant itself.
But unlike the Indiana Jones movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark," the text leaves the exact location of the Ark unclear and states that it, and the other treasures, "shall not be revealed until the day of the coming of the Messiah son of David …" putting it out of reach of any would-be treasure seeker.
King Solomon's Temple, also called the First Temple, was plundered and torched by the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II in the sixth century B.C., according to the Hebrew Bible. The Ark of the Covenant is a chest that, when originally built, was said to have held tablets containing the 10 commandments. It was housed in Solomon's Temple, a place that contained many different treasures.
The newly translated text, called "Treatise of the Vessels" (Massekhet Kelim in Hebrew), says the "treasures were concealed by a number of Levites and prophets," writes James Davila, a professor at the University of St. Andrews, in an article in the book "Old Testament Pseudepigrapha More Noncanonical Scriptures Volume 1" (William B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 2013).
"Some of these (treasures) were hidden in various locations in the Land of Israel and in Babylonia, while others were delivered into the hands of the angels Shamshiel, Michael, Gabriel and perhaps Sariel …" writes Davila in his article.
The treatise is similar in some ways to the metallic "Copper Scroll," one of the Dead Sea Scrolls found near the site of Qumran in the West Bank. The Copper Scroll also discusses the location of hidden treasure, although not from Solomon's Temple.

Oak Island has fascinated me for decades. I read the same Reader’s Digest article that the current excavators read in the 60s. I’ve been hooked ever since. If their money holds out, I think they have a shot.
There were actually three very significant things in the Ark; the tablets of stone, written by the finger of God; Aaron’s rod that budded, and an ephod of manna from the wilderness trek. Each has a significant thing to teach Christians about ‘born again life’ ...
Just because some jealous con tossed several books from the Bible, doesn’t make them “non-Biblical”.
His excuse was that there was no corresponding Hebrew text to make them cannonical.
The Dead Sea Scrolls proved that conclusion wrong.

Unfortunately, this series, like all reality shows, was shot months ago, if not longer. If anything like a substantial historical artifact or treasure was found, it would have been headline news all over the world. That said, I still enjoy the show because it shows me scenes of the hole never before shown to the public, and, it is still a mind boggling mystery as far as who built it, and why?

But what happened to the pot of manna and Arron’s rod?

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
This is Jewish text, not Christian. No Messiah yet.
And the prophet Jeremiah tells us it will not be remembered or called to mind.
‘Perhaps’ the answer is found in just who opened the chestthat was not a member of Aaron’s Levitical Priesthood.
That would be the people who received the ARK when the Philistines found it was too hot to handle.
Note that they took cattle with calves, tied up the calves, placed the Ark on a cart and the cows pulled it to the Hebrews who then opened the Ark.
No cow will leave her calf, so these were signs to the Philistines that it was God’s will the ARK be returned to the Hebrews.
At least the ancients didn’t know about Area 51.
