Colorado residents may wind up with "pot bellies" if they keep filling up on marijuana edibles at this pace.
Ever since recreational marijuana sales began in the state on Jan. 1, many shop owners said they have been unable to keep pot-infused candies, cookies and sodas in stock.
"Edibles have been really huge with the recreational market," Linda Andrews, owner of LoDo Wellness Center in Denver, told ABCNews.com. "They're great if you're not a [marijuana] connoisseur and you want something more palatable," she said. "And they are certainly more discreet."
Andrews estimates edible sales are up 300 percent at her store, which previously only served medical marijuana patients.

In order to keep the products on the shelves, Andrews said she has had to impose a two edible purchase limit per customer until manufacturers can catch up with demand.
"We got a new supply in last week and sold out in an hour," she said.
A case of cannabis impregnated Ho-Hos...the shock...the horror...
Got milk? ;)
It joins 'Affordable Care Act' in the shameless euphemism Hall of Fame.

Because they weren’t smoking weed, eating junk food, and drinking soda previously...
Maybe all of the dopers and free loaders in America will move to Colorado for its full benefits.
Makes one think about handing out one page brochures selling the concept of legal MJ to the homeless on our streets and arranging funds for one way tickets to Colozonned out.
OM NOM NOM...
Or Twinkies.

These “snacks and treats” will inevitably find their way to children. Really sad.
I'm hoping this is the start of Federal Law nullification. If Colorado can do this with no objection from the Department of Justice, then what other Federal laws can States nullify? Think Obamacare.
As a founder and later chairman of Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VetsCor), I have always favored State laws over the ever-encroaching Fed laws/regulations. It was in our Policy Statement and included in our By-laws.
The 10th Amendment to our Constitution says it all. Read it.
Don't like your States' policies/laws/regulations? Move while it's still your choice.

The establishment of sanctuary cities comes to mind.
Retards and their drugs
Time to drag all the kids to the POT FESTIVALS!!
free brownies for the children!!
idiots
Yeah, you would think the feds would not want such a precedent set, that could be used in court in other cases, where a state might decide to ignore a federal law.

The people who promote and push this dope are some of the lowest life forms on earth.
Stepenwolf’s song specifically is about heroin dealers, not pot sellers...
“the dealer is a man
With the love grass in his hand,
Oh but the pusher is a monster...”
Colorado is the only U.S. state with an adult obesity rate smaller than 20 percent, the report found. The Centennial State has held the title of thinnest state for three years running, according to Gallup-Healthways.
Welp, not for long.
I read the title incorrectly.
Thought it meant edibles had been ruled illegal, but instead they are “sold out”.
More fodder for MooseChelle’s obesity crusade, LOL.
Dope is Dope. The pieces of crap that sell that crap as pusher or dealer (the same in this case) are the bottom of life’s barrel. The people who use it are losers.
The pot legalization laws in Colorado and Washington did draw objections from the DOJ. However, as it stands now, the federal government will "look the other way". This tolerance policy will end if the fedgov perceives abuses (e.g. sales near schools). And they are watching closely. This situation is a lot different from "Federal Law Nullification".
Honestly, if I choose to purchase a brownie or two in Washington State five months from now I am a “loser”? Same to you. How many cases of beer will you have had between now and then?
I’d be interested in your view of distilleries and liquor stores.
